With firefox it is possible to download the source code, read it, and build it yourself. You cann make your own mind up about how secure it is. This is not possible with IE.

With 3 batteries it is possible to play the PSP for LONGER than the DS.

Now of course their batteris are for PSP only, you cant say pull the battery of of say, a Digital camera, but unlike my nintendo portables I CAN replace the battery.

Also unlike the offerings from nintindo they PSP uses standard interfaces. I don't have to buy headphones or memory cards, or PC link cables to interface with the PSP.

Will the DS interface my MAC, I don't think so.

I don't think they are trying to make a small computer with bluetooth or wifi glueing components together. Cables have more bandwidth than wireless.

The security riskes for these "wireless" connections would be no more than that of a normal capacitor of the same size.

Tha way if I see something cool I can drag it to my HTML editor of choice and cite the source of what I found in one step. The Firefox should add the proper citation when it builds the data to put in the clipbord or drag target.

This would make doing web research MUCH easier. Implementation can be done in DOM and DHTML and is not that hard to implement.

    2. If you are running linux or unix and have a LOT of bandwidth you may be able to get VNC to work. There was a single floppy distro that woudl run VNC. If you have bunch of outdated boxes you may get a little more use out of them before they go to surplus. I do not recomend useing windows as a backend for VNC, under M$. The vnc server has to guess about some events, so some apps just wont work under vnc.
    3. As far as I know, if you must use windows, thin clients are probibly not the answer. Thre is talk about a windows "terminal server", but I have not seen one up and running. If it is anything like the win2k "telnet server" it's next to useless.

The Content has been encoded using software that incorporates the LAME encoder; more information about the encoder is available at http:// www.mp3dev.org.
It does indeed mention LAIM but it dose not LINK to it.
Universal claims to use Blowfish to encrypt the mp3's. With the massive amount of mp3's that would need to be encoded universal must have some tool to encode and encrypt the trcks. BUT if they are using sutch a tool, they are using a program with LGPL'ed parts.
    Universal claims that:
    * Player and Content. The Player and Content comprise intellectual property owned by us and our licensors, and they are protected under international law, including patent, copyright and trade secret laws...,
    But GNU in LGPL:
Finally, software patents pose a constant threat to the existence of any free program. We wish to make sure that a company cannot effectively restrict the users of a free program by obtaining a restrictive license from a patent holder. Therefore, we insist that any patent license obtained for a version of the library must be consistent with the full freedom of use specified in this license.
LAIM is LGPL, I do not see how the method of encodeing including the use of LAIM can be considerd both "INTELECUAL PROPERTY protected by Trade Secret, and Patent Laws" and "consistend with the full freedom of use specified in (LGPL)."

This whole argument is wether or not making a program is making a product or selling a service. From the product point of view, copying a program is stealing. If everyone were to "Steal" from someone else then programers would starve.

From a service point of view copying after the job is done has no effect. The programer was paied in full for services renderd and the client is free to copy at will. Even if everyone who could were to coppy the program the programer can still eat.

The problem is that most companies bough into the product point of view and it would be expensive for them to change perspective. There are alot of managers, lawyers, and other people involved in selling product that are needed in s service industry. This suggests that the product paradigm is less efecent. Abandoning it woud require major restructuring of a company.

There is no perfect way to stop people from copying software. Software Copywright holders need to understand that it is not human nature to respect copywright. What they are doing in not effecent and causes all sorts of problems for them. Copywright Breakers need to remember, and Children need to learn that copying software can interfear with the way many people make a living.
