Let me get this straight... They're stopping the development of OutlookExpress, InternetExplorer won't be available for download any more and now they're seriously limiting who can connect to MSN Chat?
I suggest they take pictures of the polar cap. If there are any little green men on Mars, I'm sure they've built some awesome snowmen and ice castles!:)
software engineers who look at competitor's interfaces will be blinded with hot irons.
Look on the bright side - you'll have an excellent chance to improve your touch typing capabilities!;)

PHP 5 Beta 1

So how long until we get the final version?
I'm currently developing a PHP project with lots of OO code and it's about as plesant as removing your eyes with a rusty spoon (some control structures implicitly copy objects, they don't know how to return references, you can't write $a->getB()->doSth();...).
Improved OO support in PHP5 would be really nice riht now.
It's nice to see that other Aspies percieve "normal" people the same way I do. And no, I would not want to become one of them, even if I could. After all, with some practice and determination, I can still fake being like them, but I doubt they can ever be like me. There is just one problem - I can't stand pretending.:(
The internet strips away all the tiny clues usually present in a conversation. I believe this is the reason why many "normal" people get extremely confused when trying to chat on IRC. Also, emoticons help a lot - it's pretty hard to misunderstand them.:)
...I can tell you, that all flight simulators are missing two most important instruments - a piece of string and your butt. No, seriously. You don't look at instruments at all, you just check the piece of string stuck to the outside of the canopy to see if you are not flying slightly sideways. And when you find lifting air currents, you feel you're being pushed into the seat, even before instruments register anything. Other that that, you just enjoy the view (and fly in circles a lot:) ).
...and I scored 40. I've never been diagnosed with asperger's, but I've been suspecting to have it, ever sice I read about it on everything2.org - it was just like reading about myself. After all the thing that matter is not what the doctor says you have, it's what you have to live with.
In the last few years I managed to learn how to read people's emotions, but I still have troubles with some of them, though - anger, for example. Not being able to "read" people, having strong interests, etc. are some of the things that made highschool a living hell, but that also forced me to learn a lot about people. I've become quite good at recognising whe someone isn't telling the truth, to name just one thing.
Nowdays I don't consider asperger's to be a bad thing, heck - I don't even know if I really have it, but I probbably wouldn't want to be what is considered to be "normal" by most of the people. But then, my worldview is also quite a bit dibberent than that of most people.
PHP, being one of the simplest languages to learn, unfortunately attracts HUGE numbers of really bad programmers, who only know how to retrieve data from a DB (mysql, of course) and print it out using a simple loop. And then they think they know everything.
Theese are the people creating many "professional" websites - people, who have no idea why using register_globals is a distster waiting to happen, what is SQL injection, why every bit comming from the user should be treated as unsafe, etc.
PHP might be easy to use, but it's also very easy to write scripts, which should never be allowed to run on a networked computer.
Title: "Mystery Tiles From Around the World"
:)
And from the article: "in at least 20 cities around the United States (and two in South America!)"
It kind of reminds me of the times when Europe was the known world.
Does that mean we can finally start looking forward to some steamy action? :)
What's so special aboot that? I've been selling downloaded CDs for ages... ;)
Perfect plot for a B-grade movie with LL Cool J; the spiders are only PRETENDING to be nice! Mwuahahahaha
Unfortunately, "B" in "B movies" nowdays stands for Blockbuster
Is Your Boss An Idiot?
Is that a rethorical question?
Linux is an operating system with a CLUE! ...Command Line User Environment ;)
Unfortunately, the magical mp3 fairy does not exist. Also, they've canceled Christmas... and the Easter Bunny is dead!

DARPA (the folks who brought you the Internet)
Shouldn't their acronym read FBI insted of DARPA, then?
Of course this has long been suspected in lawyers and SCO execs ...
I believe you are having trouble telling the difference between rodents and dung beetles.
Tech support needs to stop thinking of end users as the enemy and start thinking of them as what they really are, its bread and butter.
True. Supporting end users has a lot in common with eating a lot of butter - both lead to heart attack.
Terminator Pinball Boasts Grenade Launcher
They forgot to mention that it blows your head off if you fail to set the new high score!
Without my job at Netscape
:)
Yes, that's what you are, now...
It will join forces with the robotic snail and take over the world!
That's nothing! I get 56kbps for $80 per month!
(I think I'm gonna go sit in the corner and weep, now)
Geeks in Space - not exactly "Knowledge by Ear", but what could beat "slashdot by ear"? :)

my mozilla want to go to http://slashdot.org/java.com and http://slashdot.org/java.net
if it doesn't start with a protocol:// it's not considered to be a full URL by the browser.
