I like to take the "Mail this card in for a free issue of 'X' magazine" and send them in without filling them out. I'm so annoyed that they are in the magazine even thought I already have the subscription.
Ummm... Last time I checked you *can* measure the actual thermal conductivity and weight of copper (or any other material) or look it up in a chart. These comparisons that they give in the article are very useful information to give people a general idea of what properties the material has.
The examples you give are completely useless without a standard to measure against.
First time I've ever seen that. Last time I knew, no Microsoft software runs on linux! Could they be running the open source webserver that Microsoft released a while ago?

blinking text really bothers me for some reason. So does MIDI files. They are basically just annoying.
I mainly only see webpages with these "features" on servers w/ free homepages so I don't run into this kind of stuff very often. When I see this on company webpages I usually find someone else that sells the same or similar product.
I guess I could verify some of this and add to it since I am the electrical team leader for Kansas State Univ.
As far as the solar array price of $25K goes....well that's close but I think we did better on price than that. We probably had the best price to perfomance ratio on American Solar Challenge this summer (as far as the array goes). You might be wondering how we keep the cost so low, but still produce an array that makes a lot of power. We encapsulate our own cells. As far as the 14hp number that is equivalent to 10444 WATTS! Sorry to dissapoint all you people out there, but it is not that high. Our array makes somewhere between 100 Watts and 2500 Watts, but that's all I can say.:)
No one really ever tells you the exact number the solar array makes anyway because it depends on the day, time, and whether or not you are on a rival team.
On a personal note: Michigan and Rolla kick some Aussie butt!
Can you tell me where I can sell these? I have >200 1mb and 4mb 32pin SIMMs. I think I even have a few of the Christmas trees that you can 4 of them in and put them in a 72pin slot.
It said that Battlebots(.com) registered their *trademark* two months after Battlebots(.org) registered their *domain*. Who cares when Battlebots(.com) registered their domain if they didn't get the trademark before the little guy registered his domain.
dictionary.com is a group of crack smokers. Any physics or electrical engineering class will teach you that there is a potential difference (in which there may or may not be current flowing). However, voltage (potential difference) causes current to flow (i.e. water flowing down a hill and you hitting the ground from me throwing you off of a building.)
Not only that, but the people running these types of machines generally are more responsible about securing (or asking for help to secure) their systems.
Your mom (or anyone else you know) forwards you the email they just got about $virusthatdoesntexist that will supposedly do such bad things to your computer that you will have to buy a new one and the email is signed by $nameofresearcher at $nameofinstitution.
I fixed this problem by telling my mom that any email from me that warns her of a virus is real and the rest are very much made up.
I try to make a habit of not plugging in keyboards while the computer is on. Most of the time nothing happens, but if you are unlucky you can FUBAR(tm) your motherboard.

I'm willing to bet that anyone that would go to the trouble to block /. ads won't be buying anything from the advertisers anyways. It shouldn't matter.

Dude, bleeding edge is not the place to be. It will be at least 2 years before these are widely used let alone affordable.

Thanks.

....why did you let it go?
Spend the $550 to get it back. And don't forget to register it next time.
What's the point in stealing someone else's files that can be used for free and giving them back away for free?
Hmmm.... No monitary potential there. Just maybe wanted credit for something he didn't write maybe?
If you can call a dual Xeon 2.2GHz computer a 4.4GHz then I can call a 100Mbit full duplex ethernet line a 200Mbit line.

Voltage is *NOT* "the rate at which energy is drawn from a source". What you are describing is power.
Voltage is the electric potential between two points.

Is there someway we could also add a humanclock slashbox? You know I need that right below my 'Oblique Strategy' box.
