    "Killer App" is right, they arent going to take off until there is one.

    IMO the killer app for IPv6 is going to be Mobile Phones. I've heard that the next generation phones are going to be IPv6 based using IPv6 Mobility. If this happens, there will be a good reason for people to use IPv6.

    For something like mobile phones, IPv6 is really needed - there just arent enough IPs with IPv4 to assign every mobile a unique IP (and mobility typically needs multiple IPs anyway)

    Actually, one of the advantages is that on modern machines you can run the game with thousands of monsters and its still fairly playable. It runs rather slow in places on my 1.4Ghz Athlon; I dont like to even think how slow the same thing would be if done in something like Quake.

    Helms deep is a huge battle in The Lord of the Rings between Saruman's Uruk-hai warriors and the people of Rohan. If you saw The Two Towers, thats the big battle in it.

    You are correct. The Helms Deep wad uses the ZDoom engine, one of the added features of which is the ability to adde sloping floors and ceilings.

    Legacy has a different scripting system to ZDoom so the helms deep wad wouldnt run under it. You could probably try ZDoomGL, though.

    Monopolies are only bad when they're abusive monopolies. If google was the only search engine around and wasnt making any kind of improvements to itself that might be justified, but past experience has shown that google is constantly trying to improve itself and come up with new innovative search techniques and features. So I dont think we have much to worry about :)

    You seem to have confused the meaning here. "free as in speech" and "free as in beer" are used to distinguish between the two meanings of the word in the English language (other languages like French have words for these concepts which distinguish them - eg. liberty vs. gratis). The point of Free Software is that the users of software, not the developers, have freedoms.

    Good riddance I say. MS-DOS was intended only to be a stopgap until Xenix was completed but unfortunately that never happened. Its a shame that a version of the braindead DOS command line lives on in modern versions of Windows and hasnt been replaced with something closer to what Unix has.

    Basically this means that the shared source license is "viral", like the GPL and exactly what Microsoft have been criticising for the past year or so.
