    I agree. I think that 2D interfaces are the most useful for 3D creatures like ourselves. However, if we were able to navigate in 4 physical dimensions, 3D interfaces would be just right. And VRML would rule.

    Yes - there's a demand for tech workers in the US that can't be supplied by Americans. So you allow immigration to increase the supply.

    Slashdot is extremely US-biased, although I wouldn't really expect anything else. After all, it's written by Americans in America.

    I'd point you in the direction of The Register, which is a great source of computer-news with a UK bias. And a great deal of sarcasm.

    What a load of rubbish. Probably true 30-40 years ago though, but nowadays almost everyone goes through some sort of further education. The universities are heaving with people too.
    Besides which, haven't most people developed their writing skills before they reach the age of 16?

    I assume you actually have read the Bible, in which case you'd realise that capitalism is inherently anti-Christian. Communism is much more compatible, what with all it's wealth-sharing etc. Anti-American does not equal anti-Christian, after all.

    Even back when most western nations were seriously Christian, fairy tales and the like were told to children. It seems that today's fundies don't understand the need for a bit of nonsense and fun in their childrens' lives (at least not consciously ;-))
