MythTV definitely has the "zoom a letterboxed SD signal into a widescreen picture". It was at least in.23, which I was running until a couple of weeks ago.
It works fine in 4:3 mode too, mythtv just letterboxes it. You can choose the mode it scales to. If I want the best quality, I switch the TV to 16:9 mode, or, I can just let MythTV letterbox it.
Check out uBook. Good reader for txt and html files for the PocketPC. Also works with PDB,.PRC and.RTF, Displays PRC, RTF and HTML images,.JPG,.GIF,.PNG,.WMF (in RTF) or.BMP

VueScan from Hamrick software supports this. There is a Linux, Windows and Mac (9 & 10) version available. I have been using this with my film scanner for quite a while. Work great. Not free, but not expensive either and updates come out very frequently, adding support for new scanners and new features.
From the manual:
Scan multiple photos, slides, film strips at once on a flatbed
VueScan provides a feature that allows you to scan multiple photos, slides or film strips in a single pass of your scanner. Lay the prints or slides on the scanner bed in a grid, edge to edge, then use the "Device|X/Y images" and "Device|X/Y spacing" options. From a single scan, VueScan will produce multiple files, all cropped and color balanced automatically.

Check out CrazyBrowser. Tabbed browsing, popup blocker, etc. Based off of IE, but has a lot of the nice features of Mozilla.
Check out the GPL SharpDevelop, a IDE for.NET written in C#. MS also makes the.NET Framework SDK available for download, which is all you really need to develop for.NET. I have been using these for several months with no problem.
My bank offers a "construction loan" where you get approved for $x, and then while you are building, you get the money as you need it, and only pay interest on that part.
I would definitely recommend XMail Server. Cross platform (Linux, FreeBSD, WinNT/2K/XP, Solaris), runs multiple domains with no problem. Not really that hard to set up if you read all the docs. There are several web config apps for it now and it's not that hard to program against the TCP config interface.
It's being actively developed (new release every month or more often if a rare bug comes up.) It's licensed under the GPL.
I use it with about 30 domains with 4-20 users per domain. I have had 0 problems with it. Easy to use, easy to upgrade (just copy the new binaries) no complaints.

I just installed 8 Cree LR6 LED lights in our living room. These fit standard 6 inch cans, but they have some that fit 4" cans I believe.
I would say that the light is basically indistinguishable from incandescent lights and they use about 1/6 the power for the same light.
Highly recommended.

I watch HD content on my standard Sony Wega TV (NTSC). Even works great with the 16:9 function of the TV that squeezes the image.
You will need seperate cards for ATSC and NTSC.
I have the Air2PC card. Works great.
Hadn't seen betaplayer before. Looks good. Thanks for the link.

For PDF Printing in Windows, check out: PDFCreator
Just print to the printer it sets up and a dialog pops up asking for filename.
Works well.
I have found LDAP Browser/Editor to work pretty good. Java app.
LDAP Explorer is a decent web interface.

You can make your own with a two liter bottle and some pressurized air. I used an air compressor.
Very easy to get 80 ft or more.

Crazy Browser This is basically a frontend to the IE engine that gives you a tabbed interface and some other nice things.
When I looked at a release candidate, XP was version 5.1.nnnn where nnnn was the build number.
