Use `yarn install`, it at least fixes the way things are installed locally by having a single copy of the packages in use and hard links in the projects.
I find it revealing that the "was this review helpful" counter is near 700, when the other reviews have a count below 10... I, for one, clicked on it, in a futile attempt to teach that hotel about the Streisand effect and how not to treat customers. The hotel didn't even bother to reply to the review...
Discover sous-vide, either with a SousVide Supreme (http://www.sousvidesupreme.com/) or an immersion circulator (e.g. http://www.waterbaths.com/products/sousvide_products.html). The supreme is fabulous for slow cooks (3 days beef ribs).
I seriously question the web expertise of anyone who snubs w3schools as a "terrible", "painful" resource for web development. However, there isn't a resource that is more user-friendly than w3schools on many of the web topics.
I seriously question the web expertise of anyone who snubs w3schools snobs. I'll note that experts don't need user-friendly, they need accuracy, both as a reference level and as a guide for best practices.

"If you ditch the need for helmets, more people would start cycling"
I simply don't believe this.
It is clear that mandatory helmets makes bikesharing much less popular. Check what happened in Melbourne. Other places are looking into changing laws for this reason in particular, e.g. http://www.ibiketo.ca/blog/helmets-may-protect-your-head-mandatory-helmet-laws-will-likely-make-cyclists-less-safe
If you've never seen the impact of bikesharing on a city, you should visit Paris or here in Montreal; the number of bikes you see in downtown is quite impressive.

That's insane. How about the students in the second and third classes that didn't cheat? And about the students in the first class that didn't distribute the tests, what were they supposed to do?
He's suggesting using the Java virtual machine, not programming in Java. Ruby's current implementation is notoriously slow, although this is resolved with the latest version of ruby (with the production version just around the corner)
Actually you can do better than that. At the very end of a game of go, many areas are completely disconnected from the others. It is then possible to assign a mathematical value to them using game theory; see Berlekamp's work
I pay _everything_ I can with my CC. This way it's easy to know where my money went at the end of the year (no ATM fees, plus 1% cashback:-). I believe that people would spend less if they knew where they spend their money.
6) Merom will not support more than 3.15 G (the rest of the 4G address space is mapped to the bus and stuff). Adding a whole gig and be able to access only 15% or so is a big waste that Apple doesn't propose and rightly so.
I put all my sensitive documents in an encrypted image (OS X sparse image) and it took me a while to realize Quicken was making historical backups of my data on my regulare drive! Luckily it's overridable in the preferences...
I was a witness to the same kind of issue with Madonna selling her 30k tickets for her two shows in Montreal within 40 minutes (with online servers bogged down silly and people lining up a week in advance...) Why in the world aren't they auctionning those tickets? In an efficient market, she would get a major premium wherever she goes. She can redistribute that money if she doesn't need it (to me, for instance, or any other charitable cause). Fact is, many people are making money by reselling these tickets. I've seen prices in the thousands online!
Just try it one evening with someone important: close MSN, and don't answer any phone. Maybe I'm just a dinosaur, with no cell and a habit of not answering the phone when in good company. Maybe the fact that I have multiple lovers has something to do with it too!
Just so you know, if you forget your wallet, you're responsible up to $50. Anything else above that is paid by Visa... I've had a CC switch before (was given back a card that wasn't mine but looked the same) and didn't notice it. Amex bothered charging me the $50...
Although many dSLR give you that option and 'fake' taking B&W pictures, that's not the way to go for professional B&W pictures. You take color pictures and then translate them to B&W, in particular using the channel mixer. The best translation is dependant on the picture itself, and it's so much easier to decide after the fact, in the digital darkroom, than while taking picture by putting on color filters that eat up a full stop or two...

I realize that the tradition is to no even RTFA, but there's a great TED talk on this technology.
The rant wasn't by Woz (woz.org), it was by Geoff Wozniak (wozniak.ca)
I've always assumed that they stored only the hashes of the CC number. In any case they (probably) don't store the expiration date
Nice graph. You'll have better luck with 'javascript' than 'java script' though.

The best way to remove luck and improve learning is to play duplicate instead. Letter scores don't need to be balanced.

At least the message was understood loud and clear... It took a couple of hours and a commit to Rails was made to change the default: https://github.com/rails/rails/commit/641a4f62405cc2765424320932902ed8076b5d38

You need to drop the Microsoft hate if you actually want to be employable.

Seriously... I am sure I am not the only one with a career in development (20+ years) without any experience on anything Microsoft.

Where's that "-1 RTFA" moderation option when you need it? Oh right, it's called "+1 Insightful" on /.

The article states that light would be bent around you, which means it wouldn't reach you at all... Too bad, I do have a very cute neighbour... ;-)

Read your agreement. If you don't report your card stolen, you're liable to a maximum of $50.
