Interesting, I guess Valusoft should be suing Bethesda regarding Prey 2, since apparently in 2001, they released a game called "Primal Prey".... I really had to search for that one.
Heh, that's what I've been doing with all developers that I disagree with, which at the moment, is mainly just Activision. Annoyingly with PC games I can't really do that, which is killing me with The Settlers 7, since it just means that I haven't bought it. Though with this news, I feel like voting with my wallet isn't gonna make a difference, I guess Ubisoft are saying that you would need to pirate their games to send a message.
You've got to remember the step where they removed the Cryptochrome from its eyes, and the fly lost its ability to sense electromagnetic fields. So, we actually know that Cryptochrome has something to do with that ability, even if it doesn't actually prove anything about humans. It's just not a very apt analogy.
Even on Slashdot, you'd be surprised how few people will actually take any action. Back when the UK three strike laws were in planning in the UK, I emailed my local MP expressing my concerns and got a personal response addressing all of those concerns from my MP and Jacqui Smith (the then Home Secretary) in a pretty letter from the Houses of Parliament, I don't see an MP doing that for 100s or even 10s of people...
Unfortunately, they then turned around and did the exact opposite of everything they said a year or so later.
While the ghosting is in part due to the glasses, it's also because of general LCD ghosting caused by high LCD response times, you can see this in 3D Vision monitor reviews, since they all use the same shutter glasses. Sony screens have actually been some of the best for 3D lately, to the point where ghosting is almost unnoticeable, but that's with two very similar images, you've got to wonder what the ghosting situation will be like with one person watching football and the other watching American Idol.
On the brightness point, that's why I'm saving up for an insanely bright projector...
Oh yeah, I didn't mean deride anyone who uses vsync, I just literally have trouble playing games with vsync enabled, I wish I didn't, because screen tearing is annoying.
My point was really that if I have trouble with vsync enabled, I have no idea how I could possibly play cloud streamed games. Unfortunately, I've not even had the chance to try OnLive yet because I don't live in the US, so I dunno, maybe it'll be fine.
I can barely play games with vsync enabled, never mind adding live streaming into the mix. I'm not saying "barely play" in a snobby way either, I actually just suck at games when I get any extra input latency.
(In case you didn’t know: Milk from a healthy normal cow in a species-appropriate environment doesn't have any unhealthy germs. That just happens if you feed them with animal meal, and let them stand in their own shit [which they hate], so that their udders become dirty, and their immune system falls apart. That's also the reason they give them so much antibiotics. It's disgusting. Pure unscrupulousness and greed.)
So you're saying that cows are sterile unless you make them stand in shit?
Aren't they the guys who did the UK census? I wonder if they'll offer every UK citizen Identity Protection.
Even though I'm from the UK and hence was forced to participate in the census, I'd almost feel good about that information getting stolen, this is what us whiny people were going on about.
Does that have anything to do with the 900Mhz spectrum? I mean, yeah, it's using wireless, but why couldn't all that be done over wireless a/b/g/n? Or am I missing something really simple?
I've never gotten that argument, it's just illogical. Here's an analogy for ya:
You give me your wallet and car keys to look after
I lose your wallet and car keys
You come back and I can't tell you what happened to them
But **** you, because you didn't pay me anything
In the adult world, there's a thing called responsibility and defending your toy manufacturer because of some odd sense of loyalty seems completely insane to normal people...
Yeah, but if he works for money so he can buy those things, there's a fairly good chance of someone stealing his credit card information after this cluster****.

Seriously, what business of yours what he does with his spare time and what value he places on his identity? And who cares that a few people wanted the service to be back up already? I know that you're probably raging at the majority of Slashdot at the moment, so it's understandable that you're finding it hard to differentiate, but you can't just lump every single person you disagree with into one group... well, you could, but it would be stupid.
Ah yes, what I want. Hmmm, I suppose a sum of money equal to the value of my identity (since they lost it, I don't care how, they could have sold it for all I care) and insurance against all identity theft crimes.
By any chance is your thinking working off a sample of one? If so, I'll go for inexperienced impartiality over possible bias...
I think they might all be afraid of posting...
Although the guest additions don't work yet, so it doesn't run as well as it could. Thinking I'll make a Windows 8 partition to give it a proper go.
If they were giving the identical car away for free I'm pretty sure it'd do well...
Well if the only feature you want is the ability to play PSP games, I obviously wouldn't spend money on a Vita...

Maybe he did sell it to someone who wasn't allowed access to it...

Google Checkout? I mean, if everywhere gave the option for both PayPal and Google Checkout maybe we could get a bit of competition going on.

You think they hacked into sites using "ddos tools"?
Come on dude.
Why would a UK jury convict someone of a crime not committed against them?
Haha. You wanna rephrase that, that was really stupid. That's like saying:
"Why would I convict that guy of murder? It wasn't me he killed..."
The point in a jury is that it's impartial, hence the "Impartial Jury" stuff in that constitution thingy.
