The problem is that 6-9 months will be a further cause in the deterioration of software quality.
You thought things were rushed now, try getting some software out in 3 months so that you have 6 months to profit from the patent before the 9 month deadline.
The distinction between machine-generated PS would probably be resolved the same way the distinction between machine and human generated HTML would be.
As a similar note, I'm now going to be dropping my copy of Norton AV (Symantec's AV software, for those cave dwellers), and going and getting something else for my home network.
I mean, if I buy product from these companies, how can I really blame them for producing it?
Actually, this happened a while ago with ATI. Somoene registerd ATI.com and ran a company called Artificial Turds Inc (they sold fake dog shit - I'm not kidding). ATI had to settle for ATITech.com.
I gather the guy eventually sold it to ATI, but it has happened before.
Oh, note that ATI survived and prospered, despite the unreasonable burden put upon them.
It took you hours to find the Mosaic Grey with XV?
Hit grab
Grab a section of the mosaic window (or the whole thing, if you're lazy)
Once the screenshot has loaded, then hold the middle button down on some grey, and the color codes appear at the bottom.
Takes me like 3 seconds...
And what does #c3c3c3 translate to? I remember that that was the 'perfect' Netscape grey under X11, so I imagine that translates to 192,192,192, as both Netscape & Mosaic use Motif...
Ahh, the memories.
Now, if can only get strn set so it doesn't puke on @Home's news servers, I can go back there... large white xterms with the fixed and trn... those were the days...
Person A: "There is something deeply fucked up in the world, let's try at least make people aware of it, in the vain hopes that we can make the world a better place."
Person B (who doesn't want to think about the problem): "Dude, you have some serious issues. You have some sort of anger control problem don't you? I bet something happened to you in your childhood to make you this way. Maybe you should deal with your own issues first."
The message, of course, is don't even bother trying to make the world a better place, because it's pointless and requires effort, and you won't change anything anyway. Just relax, chill, watch TV, Buy More and Be Happy.
disproportionate reaction
Fuck off - a man was riddled with 41 bullets for taking out his fucking wallet. If that's not worth getting upset about, then what is? But, of course, you don't want your happy little world disturbed, and so you'd be glad if everything that you didn't want to see was simply removed from your private playground of a weblog so you don't have to think about it.
The author forgot to look at the flipside - when immature losers get upset at you for fragging them while in a female skin, the cries of "Bitch", "Slut", and "Whore" are just funny (I've actually never experienced this once, and I've worn a female skin since Q2 started).
However, I don't think there are alot of women who would enjoy being called whores and sluts because they're better at a game than some random loser.
One of the problems I've had, is that alot of keyboards are aimed more at typing english than coding. i.e. I just got a MS Internet keyboard at work, and I had to give it up after a week (to a rather pleased co-worker) as my hands were in serious physical pain. The main problem is is that I use shift/alt/ctrl *alot* (yes, I code in Emacs), and my little/ring fingers were just in pain from bending to hit them. The placement of those on most ergo keyboards is *horrible* from an Emacs standpoint. I tried remapping ctrl to shift, and shift to caps-lock (and nuking caps-lock), but that didn't help much.
I'm thinking of going to an old-skool IBM buck-spring keyboard, just because they're big, loud and I've never really had an issue with them. I think I would be lynched by my cubicle neighbours if that happened, though. Ah, well.
My question, then - are there any heavy emacs users out there who have found a comfortable keyboard?
Now, all we need to do is hook Myth II upto a field of Mindstorm robots, and we can have a grand 'ol time!
you're thinking of christian country....

In Netscape its Alt-C, Alt-V. Everywhere else, its select then middle mouse button (which can be good and bad).
You're forgetting that in Gnome apps (and I would assume KDE as well), it's Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V.
In Emacs, it's M-w, C-y.
I'm sure I could go on...
Two companies - one called ATI, the other called ATI.
Who gets ATI.com?
If ATItech wanted it, they should have gotten it first. Some other ATI beat them to it.
No crime.

Arrrrggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh.....
That should be, Rest in Peace.
Rest in Peace, man.
Hope you're feeling good.
uhh, because it's posted by an anonymous coward?
all of Thier posts start at 0.
malicious newbie
Wouldn't someone who is going to hack the source code to a shell be a bit more than a 'newbie' ?
We're not talking script-kiddie activity here...
Hrm. It seems to we down.
Well, umm, uhh, yeah. There you go I guess.
What about Pathetic Geek Stories on The Onion?
You send in a, well, pathetic geek story from your childhood, and it is rendered in a comic.

God, I am so fucking sick of this reaction.

Umm, dude, you're like way behind the times.
That 'class' system was axed from the game ages ago.
All bounding boxes are identical in Q3.
Some models are more 'distracting' however, which is an advantage.
Somewhat related to the above
Probably quite a bit.

Didn't she use like a lead pipe or something?
If you define sexy as large, hard and long, I guess not.

Wouldn't mind one of those $300 keyboards, but, what ya gonna do...
Get ahold of $300?
