No, and I'm not sure why you'd want to exactly, as it would be better perhaps just to pick one language and stick with it. However, if you had a need to use both, you could encapsulate say C# code behind a web service (simple to do in .NET) and call from VB. If everything is on the same box, there shouldn't be any additional overhead.

One thing I haven't seen the article or any of the comments point out is how nice the detachable wireless keyboard and built in wireless optical mouse are. Although the res is only 1280, I can take the keyboard off and use it with the mouse like a desktop - reduces eyestrain, and when I remove the monitor so it's a few feet back, the 1280 res becomes important. That's very nice ...
It's heavy - a little over 10lbs, and it's a little harder to use in coffee shops on your lap, but the battery life is surprisingly good (a full 2 1/2 hour DVD). Forget about using it on the airplane, unless you're flying business class. It won't fit in a coach sized space. Fortunately, my company has given me a thinkpad to work with, so I get the best of both worlds (but actually end up hauling both of them around more often than not).

Wasn't Gandalf called directly by Lluvutar, or was that Manwe who called him to go down to Middle Earth? It says nothing of his past history, but I had the impression that he had already existed for a long time prior to being called to go to Middle Earth.

I get this feeling that every time the well being of the displaced city is brought up, the government and supporters quickly trumpet the benefits in order to shut the critis up and make them feel bad that they would dare deny these benefits.

Resettlement: In the 1980s, China passed regulations to protect the rights of those displaced by the dam projects and assure them of adequate compensation. But human rights activists asserted that rural dwellers are being discriminated, that they are not being consulted about their eviction, that they are often crowded onto poor land with unsatisfactory living conditions and few job opportunities, that they are not being taught new job skills, that corruption is diverting the funds meant to compensate them, that their local culture is threatened and that the government has provided no channels for them to express dissatisfaction
