How hard do you think it is to search for an IMEI and replace it?
That part's easy. Creating a valid signature for the modified binary? Harder. (and if you have the keys for that, you don't need Apple's help in the first place)
At least they're acknowledging it. It's too bad there aren't any good processors (from a freedom perspective) that aren't just terrible performance-wise when compared with Intel.
The hope was to eventually get Intel to open their code.
I wouldn't hold my breath on that, but stranger things have happened.
Unrelated to the topic at hand, but they say it's "A laptop that respects your rights" then turn around and have an Intel CPU. I notice the CPU is missing from the picture shown below "Every hardware chip individually selected", and no mention if they've somehow disabled AMT or whatever the replacement is.
Scrubbing may be overstating how much is actually done, it's really just a quick action while loading. Maybe 10% of the dishes actually require more than a rinse. Come to think of it, on reading some of the other comments, it may have more to do with the type of detergent used than the water efficiency. It seems to have particular trouble with egg residue, but I just do a single pass with a sponge and then they come out just fine.
My "eco-friendly" dishwasher leaves food on dishes if I don't scrape them with a scrubber first. I strongly suspect the extra water used for this step more than offsets any water saved by the machine. It still requires less effort overall, compared with hand washing.
This is in Los Angeles. There is no freeze-thaw cycle there, and as a result, few potholes. I live in San Jose, 350 miles north of LA, and even here there are very few potholes.
This is likely managed storage, but in terms of raw storage, a stack of 38 9.5mm tall 2.5" 2TB drives would only be 361mm, or barely over a foot. Even if they used 1TB drives that'd be 722mm, or about 2 feet 5 inches. Are you a midget?
Indeed, it does not seem to have anything of the sort. I'm guessing the target devices (smartphones, etc) wouldn't need anything resembling high speed networking. For what it's worth, the Banana Pro (half the cores, higher clock, same A7) has a gigabit NIC, and I've gotten >500Mbps with it.
I think there's a different profile that supports 20V @ 3A (60W), probably a copy and paste issue.
Here's a press release straight from QC
False.
Try 7 years ago.
It depends on the capacity, generally the lower capacity ones will have fewer platters or even a single head
(pdf) 250GB-3TB: 500-1TB per disk, 1-3 disks
(pdf) 3TB-8TB: 1.3TB per disk, 3-6 disks
So a cheap 1TB drive may have a single platter, but they add more as needed.

Don't forget the stealth link (which also goes to the same article) in the header bar!

There is a link, it's just in tiny print next to the title, and is the same color as the bar behind it.
Thanks Dice!
I get your point but 2TB 9.5mm 2.5" drives have been around for a while
It appears that 15mm gets you 4TB these days, assuming that's not just two drives crammed in the case
Looks like you can get a 4TB SSD in that same form factor (it's also 15mm if the spec sheet is to be believed)

Police have duty?
Google has an iOS app specifically for Gmail.
Is he not your hero?
It's bad enough that CalTrans estimates that approximately 1,500 Bay Area drivers a year are filing damage claims against the state, hoping to recoup the money spent on repairs from bad roads
can you please FIX THE FUCKING POTHOLES???

Not sure if serious

Completely agree, in terms of firmware support, this board has been a nightmare, and I won't be buying anything with AllWinner again.
Looks good, wish it had SATA or USB3 though. The XU4 looks nice also, but seems expensive and not shipping yet.

Pretty slow.
They are doing that to trade off bandwidth for better latency.
You mean like in Paris, London and Spain?
Quotas are an American thing. They aren't that common in other places of the world.
So what's all this about then? (click the second tab to view the tiers)
I don't know about that particular device, but many cheap 16:9 plasma TVs are 1024x768 for some reason. Ref
