I love spam protection programs. I've been using them for years, but have to switch every couple of months because of the friggen spammers. The people that make the spamming software don't just sit around cackling about how evil they are. They reverse engineer every anti-spam protection out there in an attempt to get around it.
Do they really believe that people who install anti-spam software on their PC's are going to buy penis-enlargement pills from spammers that defeat the software? How fscking stupid are can they get? People who install anti-spam software are not potential customers.
There are so many good CDs out there that you could buy one a week for the rest of your life and still not hear them all, and that's assuming no more CDs were ever released between now and then.
But how do you find out what they are? I've found several really good artists through filesharing and, as a result, have started buying CDs again.
Yoga, meditiation and feng-shui were around for hundreds of years before the current new-age crystal-dolphin-huggers hijacked them.
I used to work for a company that had (optional) yoga sessions once a week at lunchtime. I loved them, they were the highlight of my working week. The only problem was that I was so relaxed at the end of a session that I'd fall asleep. That doesn't help productivity too much!
Also, some of you geeks really ought to try yoga, as yoga classes are usually full of attractive women. It might do some of you good to get away from your monitors and meet some semi-clad members of the opposite sex.
Laura Didio says, "There are "bits and pieces" of copied material in Linux version 2.2, according to SCO. However, the vast majority of their claims centre around the later Linux 2.4 and 2.5 versions."
and then says that she was shown similar code in "Unix System V, version 4.1. Incidentally, this particular code is from the early 1980s, and hence predates Linus Torvalds' first Linux code."
But hang on a minute. Wouldn't early 80's Unix code be extremely primitive compared to Linux 2.2 and above? Would the kernel hackers really need to steal such ancient code for versions 2.4 and 2.5? Surely the Linux kernel must have been functionally equivalent (or superior) to early 80's Unix a long time ago? HH --
No, they provide vastly overpriced and completely crap development tools (SDK) to interactive TV developers. Their compiler gcco is based on gcc, but I've never been able to obtain the source to it.
I'm an OpenTV developer. They release binaries and include the GPL with them, but have always refused to release the source. I first asked them for the source several years ago. All such requests (both by me and other developers) have been totally ignored. OpenTV are complete shits (IMHO).
All this new GNOME and KDE stuff is great, but what I really want to know is, when will Ximian's release of GNOME 2.x be ready? Their GNOME 1.x release far surpassed what everyone else was doing with it at the time. If their 2.x is similarly superior, it's really going to be super slick.
I'd agree that Ximian Gnome 1.x was a great product. I compared it to (the then current) KDE 2.x, and Ximian just blew KDE away. I've been a devoted Gnome user since. However, I recently migrated from Red Hat+Ximian to Gentoo/Gnome 2.2. At least that was the intention, until I took a look at KDE 3.1. Wow - instantly konverted! It's uch slicker & more usable than Gnome. Maybe Ximian will redress the balance. Gnome/GTK still has the best apps though. Nothing can touch Evolution or Galeon (so far), though Konqueror is catching up with Galeon.

It's not illegal in the UK if you pay tax on the biodiesel. The problem (as far as the government was concerned) is that people were running their cars on fish'n'chip oil without paying any fuel tax.
Asda (Walmart) in the UK now run their fleet of delivery lorries on recycled donut frying oil.
Asda, the UK subsidiary of Walmart, is running it's fleet of lorries on biodiesel produced from waste oil from frying donuts. They produce between 60 to 90 million litres of waste frying oil every year, which is now providing them with cheap fuel.

Was this meant to be a joke, since RDF also stands for Radio Direction Finding?

Wow! A laptop PC that turns into a notebook PC. This must surely win Big Blue the 'Microsoft Award for Great Innovation'.

I guess that most /.ers would care more about the video card. The URL you posted didn't work. Try this:

Or this:
