iPod sales have been high here in the UK even before the iTunes store was launched. I've been seeing loads of white-headphone wearers around London for months now.
This simply means that RSA encryption can be potentially broken, irrespective to the length of the key. But we are still safe - so far nobody built a working quantum computer that would carry on simple calculations like factorizing the number 15.
How do you know this for certain? If the NSA's scientists have cracked this you can be damn sure that they're not going to tell anyone about it.
It traces back to paradise.net.nz who provide dialup, cable and adsl connections in New Zealand. He's probably diconnected by now, got a new ip address from DHCP and left dyndns pointing an his old address. I pity the unsuspecting person who is next allocated 202.0.40.113
Wrong. According to the Dating Design Patterns web site I'm:
Half Bad Boy Plus Protocol: Structuring one's appeal based on equal parts considerate gentlemanly attributes and "bad boy" behavior or facade.
So I'm "Mr Right" - sensitive, caring, well-paid, mature, but also a pagan biker with long hair, wears leathers and owns two motorbikes (not mid-life crisis, been biking for years). I'm the one who wants to go to the sleazy goth clubs!
That's really good advice, but best of all IT WORKS. I'm a geek who couldn't get laid at college, but am now in my 30's and have had lasting relationships with some very good looking and intelligent women. I'm currently in a steady relationship with a very cute girl who's 13 years younger than me and has a degree in design.
Sometimes not having a girlfriend can be despairing, but work on yourself and someone great might come into your life.
If IBM try to turn against the free/open source community then this court filing would turn into a weapon against them. IBM are saying to the judge, "we're 100% behind Linux and the GPL". It would be very hard for them to now turn against the free/open source movement.
RTFA. IBM make it very clear indeed that they believe that SCO are violating the GPL and are terminating SCO's rights to distribute GPL'd code developed by IBM.

This is the SAME Greg Newby who is the CEO of the original Project Gutenberg. Make of that what you will.
I can't find any mention of this on the Linux Kernel Mailing List. What's your source for this? Heathen Chemistry is the title of an Oasis album which, to the best of my knowledge, is not Alan's taste in music. I'm into similar music to Alan and we sometimes meet up at outdoor summer festivals.
A car designed by women sounds about as practical as a motorbike designed by italians.
It takes an hour to get to the spark plugs of my Ducati. The battery terminals are virtually inaccessible too, which for a bike with dodgy italian electrics is a real pain.
So what happens when the owner of this car leaves their lights on, drains the battery and the car has to be booked into a volvo dealer (the only people who can open the hood) to have the battery recharged?
It's not a big deal, if it turns out he wasted his money, then so be it. it was more of a way to protect his business, if something happens and the tables turn, he's not going to have his restaurant burned down and have to pay that, in other words, the cost of an arson attack would be way more than having to pay the protection money. it was just simply more cost affective to pay off the mob and if they get arrested, so what, the customers who had doubts had peace of mind at this point.
can't they just kiss and make up?
Would you really want to kiss Darl McBride?

It's rumoured that, in addition to FAT, Microsoft will also be patenting BALD and SWEATY

I haven't checked, but I seem to remember that the GPL forbids linkage to non-free code, but the LGPL allows this.
How would you create a binary patch that could link into code generated by different compilers, or with different compiler options?
Another dupe. Yawn. This story was originally posted last October when he was convicted.

As far as I can tell not one story on slashdot today has been fake.
This one checks out as many online book sellers list it. Most of the others are fakes though.

Because this book is written by a woman.

Except that this story is real. Go search on Google.
Ah, but it's not 100% of free
BM is waiving the Novell / Old SCO APA claiming that Novell maintains oversight of the whole UNIX business
I really hope that you mean "waving". "Waiving" has an entirely different meaning in this context.

Imagine what the cave would smell like after 500 years of refried bean consumption.
Come to think of it, I can't think of a better fate for our 'leaders'.

Did anyone else in the UK think of the Harry Enfield's hilarious "Old Gits" on seeing "GitS Sequel"?
ALF GIT: When's the funeral?
FRED GIT: Today.
ALF GIT: Good! Are they gonna burn him or bury him?
FRED GIT: Up the chimney.
ALF GIT: Yeah, that's how I'd like to go, have my ashes scattered in the old back garden - when her next door's got her washing out.
FRED GIT: Take her weeks to get you out of her knickers.
