This is simply not true. Voice packets are given the highest priority across the network. If a voice packet does not make it to the destination, it is not resent. If the proper investment is made (you need newer switches and equipment) and the configuration is correct, it really does work great. I think it is ideal for an office with 30 people, especially if it is in a rural area where you may be paying a lot for a frame relay circuit or other connection. This setup can be done using Avaya VoIP phones in just a few hours and is very reliable!!
Many gambling websites such as http://www.onlinegambling.com/ and http://www.partypoker.com/ allow users to gamble using credit and debit cards. They also provide other methods of payment such as paypal - which uses a savings/checking/credit card account anyways. The online gambling industry is thriving.
I think micropayments would work very well for people who want to download music, do research, or gain the benefits of some other inexpensive transaction.
"40GB HD"
Imagine the potential if it had a larger hard drive, say 160GB. Users could hook up a small LCD screen in between the handle bars and watch divx movies! Or listen to mp3's. All this, in addition to recording course turns via GPS!
"1) In Calc I in HS, you're looking at a class of 30 people. 50, max. In Calc I in college, you'll likely be in a class with something on the order of 100-200 people. See, *everybody* takes Calc I their first year, not just the comp. sci's. All engineering majors, all the math geeks.. Hell, even English majors probably have basic math as a requirement... So most of the time, it's a big class, usually a seminar type of deal. If you're having a hard time with it in there, then you'll also likely need to take another not-for-credit class where they can give individual instruction or take some extra tutoring on the side. Whereas in high school, you've not only got a smaller class, you've got an experienced math teacher, who likely knows his stuff, and you've got a year to learn it as opposed to 1 semester only. Okay, so the HS teacher may be less motivated, but you've got a longer time period, a smaller class, and you're in that class with the top students in the school (who can probably help you out somewhat) instead of in there with everybody in the whole school (who likely need just as much help as you do)."
It all depends what univeristy you attend. Both my calc I and calc II classes had less than 25 people in the class. Graduate assistants did not teach the class, they were a full professors. I attend a school with 15,000 undergrads and 80% of my classes have 25 students. If you don't get enough individual attention, go to a different university!
Patches..."A vulnerability that involves the incorrect parsing of URLs that contain special characters. When combined with a misuse of the basic authentication feature that has "username:password@" at the beginning of a URL, this vulnerability could result in a misrepresentation of the URL in the address bar of an Internet Explorer window."
I can't believe it takes Microsoft so long to fix major flaws like this. Honestly, why does it take 60,000 programmers 60 days to fix an IE URL error?
From the third page in the article: "Turner's bill passed the state senate by a 40-to-0 vote. But it got bottled up in the assembly, thanks to the efforts of Indian IT firms and their powerhouse Washington, DC, lobbying firm, Hill & Knowlton."
Why the hell do we allow Hill & Knowlton to greatly influcence our governmental decisions regarding outsourcing U.S. jobs? They have offices in 37 countries around the globe and firmly believe in outsourcing jobs outside the U.S. Our government really needs to stand up to companies like Hill & Knowlton and fight for U.S. jobs.
"I don't want to see pop-ups blocked," said Matthew R. Coffin, the chief executive of LowerMyBills.com, a site that sells long distance and other services. Pop-up and pop-under ads, he said, attract more people than any other ad format. "People wouldn't click if they weren't interested."
The toolbar on each pop-up window is often disabled and the window itself just displays a large image which doesn't allow the average web surfer to easily close it. I think most people just click on it by accident or because they don't know what else to do. I am curious to know what the percentage is of people who click on the ads and actually purchase something. I suspect it is less than 1%.
For relaxation, campers... disassembled a Toyota Prius, then put it back together again (it was a rental).
Sounds like fun!

Ham radio can be a good time. I will be using my ICOM 28H this weekend in Youngstown, OH. If you are in the area my call sign is KC8UFF. I can always find a nearby repeater when my cell phone can't reach a tower!
Many people have also used their ham radio's to contact the police when a tornado or other disaster wipes out other means of communication.
Well if it is that hot, why does their stock price continue to go down? Their financial goal is to raise the value of the stock price, and they are failing. Also, 64 bit chips are not ready for the mainstream market yet. They need more testing, analyzation, and intrepration with an unbiased group of persons as the sample, to make reliable predictions.
Exactly right, not that your date will matter, but when the post office stamps the date on there, it can be used appropriately. Of course, if you don't have the money to defend your idea, it is a waste of your time.

Leonard will be missed by many. He was Dandelion Digital's sole proprietor. He also has a page about his Linux acheivements, especially his SCSI drivers which are commonly used today.
It is rediculious to think that Forgent Corp owns the JPEG data compression technology. Many movements and groups have contributed to improve JPEG compression. For example, the Independent JPEG Group is an independent group that writes and distributes a widely used free library for JPEG image compression. Their website features the source code and some documentation. More information can be found on the ISO JPEG standards committee webpage. -Tom

Multiply hourly rate * 2080 to compute yearly salary. For example, $20/hour * 2080 = $41,600.

I remapped my windows key to be a control key. If you really have a need to hit the windows key, you can just hit ctrl + esc.

Actually, that is exactly how I meant it. Most people who have a ham license have multiple radios.

It is great that movies have become so realistic that they actually portray an existing (at the time of creation) ssh exploit!

International Business Machines ROCKS!!
Spamassassin is great - it is used (C, not perl) at the server side to shift the business and data logic to the server, and is monitored easily!
What is odd is that EMC (leading storage company affected by both Sun and AMD) is also down 0.22! This market just plain sucks!
