but UO had some seriously good times for strategy - especially early in the games life (97-98) when it was a major PK game. The strategy of fighting the other human characters was fantastic, and there were some very ingenious tactics that arose...

  17. discovery channel on CIA Warns China Might Be Planning Cyber Attack · · Score: 2

maybe the chinese are watching the discovery channel to determine what systems are our trusted military ones:

There was a show on (IIRC modern marvels) that was talking about a military unit dedicated to securing their systems and monitoring for break ins. there was a .mil guy talking about how they keep all there machines secured and was saying that they dont even let the IP addresses for machines be known - but right behind him was a screen that had a list of IPs and hostnames for boxes on their network and it was fully readable when watching the show.

they prolly just got a freeze frame from that show.

I use Yahoo Messenger to talk to friends in sweden and germany.... works great.

I started using it as even though i have an acceptable /minute rate to europe (given that i only call once every few months) - one time I had difficulty getting the call to complete, so i called up the long distance op (00) and asked her to place the call for me as i couldnt get it to connect.

Then I received my bill, over $2.50 /min. WHAT!! It was never that high before. I called them up and started bitching, er escalating the issue. It turns out that sice I called the op (00) and had "assistance" placing the call that the rate went through the roof. UNACCEPTABLE I told MCI - no way am I paying this. I told them that no matter what was I accepting the rates for this call as had they told me of the incredible increase I would not have made the call, further that if it had been a decent rate I would be happy to pay it - but since they were raping me for 2.5/min they could kiss my ass. and I want a refund on my bill.

They agreed to give me the refund. FIVE TIMES. but they kept billing me for it - and never actually refunded me the amount. So I didnt pay them and switched to sprint - and make all my calls overseas via yahoo messenger.

I used to work for a VOIP co, and know a lot of cheap VOIP methods etc... but nothing beats totally free Yahoo. and the quality is good enough, especially since its free....

She was there because she played someone named Susan Wilson referenced in the article in a TV-lifetime movie about this ladies problems with video voyeurism.... most likely the reason they had her there instead is because the real Susan Wilson is probably not as good looking... and they are using Angie Harmon's good looks to assist in swaying the emotions of people into accepting this bill further. If they were to have had some ugly lady bitching about being watched on camera - it would not carry as much weight as if some hottie was doing the bitching. This just goes to show, that even still, politics is acting for ugly people - its the same BS emotional manipulation as the hollywood crap. Just makes me sick.
