Falling a sleep in the train on your way home is a good way to get your phone stolen, even here in Denmark. I don't use public transportation now but when I did, I always slept most of the time and woke up just before my stop. Overslept once in 8 years. Now it is unsafe to sleep in the train and the advantage is gone. I didn't have a smartphone then but I did have a discman, a laptop and later on different MP3 players. We also didn't have open borders all the way through Europe and all the "lovely" people removing the borders brought us.
We are starting to hear stories about people who had their phones stolen in Scandinavia, getting calls from Eastern Europe where the new "owners" of the phone wants the password for iCloud so they can use the phone. Some have offered a small amount of money to get their password others have been angry with the rightful owner that they couldn't use their phone. Go figure.
Well, they also have their Content ID system so I would think it could remove a lot of videos since there are uploded a lot of videos with music owned by others than the uploader.
for 99% of the movies I see. I rent them an see them once and that's it. For some reason I don't feel like using money on getting a movie on Blu-Ray.
Perhaps it is my collection of VHS movies I threw out years ago or maybe my LaserDisc's taking up shelf space in my home office(specially those "invalueable" collecters editions). It could also be my smaller collection of DVDs in drawers in the living room that reminds me why I should not buy Blu-ray, but just rent it instead.:)
I agree. I figured it was an attempt of character development. I am a season behind, but I sometimes see some attempts to it on track with comments like "is that sarcasm, I am getting better at detecting it" style comments.
I figured that it was what people wanted, it being 100% predictable. There are no surprises, it's the same stuff over and over again like those stupid top 10 lists.
I have only travelled in nothern France and the last 15 years has changed a lot and it seems to be possible now to use English(have never been to Paris). Unless they think I am German, then nothing is possible and there are no rooms available, they can't understand a word of what I am saying etc.
That is so 1990's. We install a VPN router to connect to the home network through that? So the only thing we need to secure are the VPN? Everything else is insanity and who wants to spend all their free time checking up on all their appliances to see if they are secure with the latest patches? Most of them probably won't be and the hardware will outlive the software updates. Will there be security updates for your heatpump in 10 or even 5 years? I doubt it. But it is damn to be able to turn on the heat or cold from the office.
I am not up to date on US broadband prices but wouldn't it be much cheaper to get a MiFi access point instead? But I guess if I had the money for a new Audi, I wouldn't care about 99$ a month for a overpriced broadband service. If it is all paid up for the price of the car hides the cost of the broadband.
I usually run adblock+ on my browsers so I don't see that many ads, and because of that, I not clicked on any ads. But at one time I did log in to Facebook using a computer that did not have adblock+ installed and the ads were the type I really did not expect even Facebook to allow. It was really just porn ads disguised as someone sending me a personal message or whatever. When they have no problems going that low, I feel even better about using adblock+. For other reasons, I have not logged in to Facebook for 1/2 a year now and I have disabled my account so I don't know if this crap is still going on.
