I finished the game just about an hour ago, and I liked it. It is true that the AI is stupid at times. But it only bothered me a few times. One time was when a lot of enemies were rushing into the room and the AI guy was just standing there taking hits.
But the only thing that bothered me is that I think the game was too short, and I made a effort not to rush through it. The games are so expensive that I feel that I should have gotten more out of it, also because the multi player can be fun, but think that it will be boring after a while.
A good thing is that it does not have wait for the game to load, unless you die and have to restart. By the sound of the drive I figure it must be some sort of dynamic loading?
Of course you have to be able to stand the noise of the DVD drive which drowns out the fans completely. Imagine the sound of the cheapest DVD drive you can find, running at full speed all the time you are playing. But this is not the games fault.
link. I don't know. what the h*** is going on:-D. Maybe it would become clear if one saw it live, so I searched for it hoping what someone would have shot some video of it and posted it and indeed so, I found this. It doesn't make it less scary.:)
They should, they had that thing called Netware once, well they still do, but noone uses it anymore. In the old days MS were also very open about supporting Novell until w2k. But of course most of it was to make it as easy for the user to upgrade from Netware to NT. So they could get a foot in the door of the server room. Once you had MS in the server room the agument(by da management) was, why have 2 different OS(Netware/MS), lets just stick to MS so we don't have to educate our workers in Netware.
If that is true then it must mean that you / we / I have become self aware. If fact, why I am writing that to you now that I know that I am you and you already know what I am writing.
And so writing comments here have become redundant, since I am just talking to myself.
so this is the last comment on slashdot ever,,,,,,, or
Yes, I am, the noise are constant. It sounds interesting if yours does that. because that must mean that they are using different drives. Perhaps mine is faulty but I don't think so, although it never spins down while a game is playing. It is way louder than the fans.
like the xbox 360. The fan noise from CPU/GPU cooling are nothing compared to the DVD drive. Whenever I put in a game, the spinning noise of the disc is unbearable. It doesn't even spin down but keeps on running at full speed until i exit the game. Only when the drive stops, can I hear the fan "noise". So, if the PS3 (the versions that hit the stores, not the showroom ones) makes less noise than the xbox, I will be throwing that in the trash.
I agre, I just installed Ubuntu for the first time this week. I had been trying other distributions from time to time but haven't been completly happe with them although I have been happy with SUSE on my desktop at work. But I never have gotten stuff like codecs to work properly when installing it at home and I haven't had the time to try it at work(since it really wouldn't help me do my work).
After installing Ubuntu, the next step is to install Automatix. It made it possible for me to have a desktop running in one evening with everything I wanted. Including running my old favorite game, Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 under Wine. I just ran the installer from a command prompt though Wine and then it work, I realise that this will not be possible with newer games, but it doesn't bother me that much.
So far I have not found a single thing I miss with Ubuntu. Except perhaps running games, but I don't play games that much any more, and the ones I would have bought, had copy protection like Startforce so I didn't buy them. But that is another issue.
So the question remains if I will go back to Windows. I guess that time will tell. It is hard to run on Linux in a Microsoft dominated world, but it is easier with Ubuntu.:) And there's the added bonus of feeling in control of the computer again.
blah blah blah. They exist and are widely used because they are the ones who does something about the problem. But that hardly matters because it seems you have some personal reason for hating them that you have not revealed in your post.
"We are forced to pay attention to who we are voting for thus having a greater understanding about whats going on." No, you are forced to go down and at least pretend to vote. I don't know how the voting process works in your country, but I guess you would either get blank, invalid or random votes, depending on how the system works. There must be people who still don't care.
I started out trying MythTV and others and I would really like to run Linux on my media center machine and not give MS 150$. After a week I must admit that I gave up, although I like playing with stuff like that, I just wanted something that worked. My 3 largest issues was, getting the right resolution for my TV with the HDMI connection, getting the IR to work and getting the TV Schedules. I installed MCE and had it running in an hour or two, and the most important thing I wanted, automatic scheduling of series, workeded after installing rollup pack 2. Now this is getting close to a year since I last tried and I have seen a lot has happened since then. So I might plug in another hd soon and use an evening or two with MythTV and others again.
It should be a phone. It makes sense to me, I always carry a phone around sometimes, I wish I had taken my ipod with me. But the phones/music players I have seen, have had a bad interface. The ipod is a simple device when it comes to navigating the interface. It should be possible to integrate into a phone.
Buy a PS3 from "we want to root your PC, company" or a xbox 360 from the "we want to kill every OS and product you like and shove our own down your throat".
hmm. I think I will go with first one if I were to buy a machine.
I think I read about you could get a 5 megabyte drive for it. I remember talking to my friends about it in school. I can't remember the price but it was more that we could dig up, even if we bought it together.
for me anyway. I have 3 problems with WiFi. 1) Too many people near by with WiFi makes the connectivity suck within my apartment(have tried many channels). How about a new system where base units can figure out the best configuration when there are others nearby and even change them when the radio pattern(/coverage) changes. 2) My existing devices are not compatible with "New" security standards, fx. Ipaq and wpa2. For every WiFi enabled unit you buy, you have the problem of not being able to upgrade your security unless all devices support it. 3) My HP notebook drops connection when a cellphone is used in my apartment.
There are so many things that can break my WiFi net that I still prefer to use cables. Thought about getting a Squeezebox with WiFi, but I think I might as well save the money and just use cable.
Just to close it, it was XGL that broke Citrix. If just the nvidia drivers had worked. Now I have to compile drivers myself everytime there's a kernel update.
I have been running SUSE on my desktop at work since v8 and just tried the latest. Luckily I installed another harddisk in my pc before trying to install. It looked great but I ran into some installation problems very unlike other SUSE installs I have tried. Even on my notebook it has worked perfect, even WiFi and Bluetooth.
Although the install itself ran fine. Getting the right drivers for my nVidia (6200) card failed. I got a trial key and went on to install the drivers in hope of running XGL. But it failed to make use of the card so I ended up installing my own drivers and forced XGL to enable. I did get that to run but then I had another problem, which was a show stopper. I was happy to see the Citrix client included, but it seems to have problems with multiple desktops on this SLED 10. When I change to another desktop, all the Citrix applications vanishes. I can see in the process list that they still are there, I just can't see them. That worked great on the others. So now I am installing it again from scratch, with KDE instead of Gnome, without XGL to see if it works then. Interesting to see what happens when I try to register the same license again. I hope that it was just XGL that broke Citrix.
"Take it from me nothing is worse than just another fucking cubicle." You have fucking cubicles at work?, I wish we had that, but I don't think our boss would allow it. How cool would that be to have a fucking cubicle.
We do however have someone who comes and gives massage once every week.
The shark still looks fake.
You are right, could not explain it better myself.

Well I might not be throwing it in the trash. I have someone who wants to buy it from me in case I decide to get rid of it.

that shows what the xbox 360 can do and don't send out any more games that are upscaled to 720p.

I was expecting a foot in the right side of the story.
IIRC we had BSOD on NetWare first. But then it was the Black Screen Of Death.
As long as we can avoid a resonance cascade, we should be ok.

NO! we need to kill them all, it's the only way to be sure.
