Sadly, Gravis had NO idea how to properly market a sound card as they were "simple" joystick manufacturers (etc).

It was always amazing to setup two systems next to one another for the serial "network" game (one with a Creative board the other with an Ultrasound board) and compare the sound quality. It was amazing. Plus id has always put so much time and thought into the graphic and sound quality it's clearly a different experience when you compare them.

In addition if anyone remembers, there were plenty of issues between id, Creative and (wait for it) Gravis. Yes, for anyone old enough to remember those days, the UltraSound card by Gravis was the first wave table sound card and VASTLY superior to anything (non)Creative Labs ever put out.

id's support of the UltraSound card was a bone of contention for Creative and I can easily see that Creative would have a hair across their collective ass(ets) including something they (creative) might want to litigate for.

Why is it that Israel is kicking our ass with so many Army (Read As: Ground forces) technology?

I mean, back when we went into Afghanistan and then Iraq the Israelis had a armored vehicle that could shoot rocket propelled grenades and inbound projectiles and we didn't. Oh wait, Raytheon paid off the government to sacrifice our soldiers for their vehicle that still has YET to be produced.

Before that the Israelis were working on a mobile laser weapon that can shoot artillery shells out of the sky.

They created that modification to guns that allows the military to shoot around corners without risking sticking your head our there.

Now this and whatever else we don't know about.

The Chinese are creating their own stealth technology.

I'm not a "Pro-Military" guy but I would like to see a LOT more money put into research and development as well as spying. To a certain extent the 40's & 50's had it right. Spy and steal technology so you know what they are doing. Protect your companies at home and spend money on your R&D.

Now, since Corporations have global and international ties, they could give two shits who has the tech as long as they make their money.

And since Corporations buy our government, specifically the Republicans but some Democrats too, there isn't much effort in restricting those practices.

I ranted too much here, my apologies.

The media has been "recovering" from the Bush era controls, but they still don't really do as good a job as they have in the past. They are more interested in selling the news that reporting it.

So, its up to US (people of the US) to record the news on our cells and post it to the internet before that gets controlled.

It's a stupid argument over something that doesn't really matter. If more people paid attention to their own decisions instead of getting worked up about 'others' decisions their would be a lot more productive debate and productive competition.
