    Yes, but in Word Perfect, it took maybe 2 clicks. Not the 6 or so it takes in Word, if you remember what it is you need to do.

    No, it takes exactly two clicks.

    Oh yeah, 'show formatting' is also in Word.

    I have never heard of a dual CPU machine with different architectures, is he on crack? Plus, this was written after the IBM manufactured G5 chips(not Motorola like he states) came out.

    Actually, Apple _did_ have a dual machine when they the Mac moved from 68k to the early PPC.

    In addition, PC's had a similar, but different way of upgrading to new architecture:

    "386. Meet 387." The math architecture wasn't put on one chip until the 486DX (and taken away when it didn't work on the SX, but that's another story).

    Some time in the last few months, Sun Microsystems has lost their collective mind.

    You can't lose what you never had. I can sum up this issue in one statement: Scott McNeally is trying to save his a$$. He wasted too much time and money on the M$ lawsuit with not enough to show for it and now he's trying to play catch-up before the investors lose patience.

    Prediction: Open-courcing Solaris will lead to cuts in the Solaris funding. If the new Solaris "community" doesn't pick up enough of the slack, they SUN still has a new business partner that would be more than willing to provide them with an "alternative" OS solution.

    My opinion. Take it as it is.

    This reminds me of the disclaimers we used to put on our ftp sites back when I was younger. It bascially said:

    A) You're not allowed to be here unless you were given permission.

    B) If you're a member of a law enforcement or copyright enforcement agency, you are not allowed to be here.

    C) You are not allowed to download (or upload for that matter) IP that you do not have the rights to.

    Now, whether any of these were ever followed is another matter... :-\

    "Yes, now you too can earn a worthless degree in a narrow field working countless hours getting no sleep. For your first job you say? NO! That's just for your demo reel!"

    These degrees are for people to have no motivation to learn on their own time, which by the way is something every game campany looks for.

    You want to be an artist? Get an art degree. Programmer? Comp Sci. Designer? English, Business, or Management are good fields.

    Don't be a fool, GET YOUR DAMN SCHOOL!

    hmmm... they (Sony, IBM, and Toshiba) plan to have a development station available sometime this fall.

    Meanwhile, Microsoft already and developers using G5's to develop for the X-Box2.

    Considering it can sometimes take two years for a game development project from start to finish, who should start to be worried???

    Half the time it felt like a Geeks Annonymous meeting, the other half felt like an infomercial for new technology I had no chance of being able to afford in the next few years. I hope they realize a good part of their audience is in college and treat it accordingly.

    Well, coming from someone who has been using Rambus for about 4 years now, the pair thing isn't that big of a deal since it's not like your replacing your ram that often.

    The trick with rambus, like any form of ram in reality, is finding the right chipset that will work with both it and the processor. I've been on 1gb of 800mhz rambus for about three summers now and I don't see myself changing anytime soon. It does great in high-performance, which I need alot since I do 3d graphics and not everything can be offloaded onto the GPU (Maya and 3dsmax will bring and system with less than 1GB down to its knees...)

    Anyways, that's been my experience with Rambus, judge it as you will.
