That isn't necessarilly true, both of my children and some of their friends enjoy D&D quite a bit. And as far as miniatures go, I didn't use them myself growing up with the game, but I use them all of the time now since my kids are still rather young. It is easier for younger children to get into the game when they have something to look at. As they get older, I am sure it will move away from the miniature aspect and more into a true role-playing game.
Given the fact that they released an Extended Edition of all three movies, I am expecting that in two to three years, Jackson/New Line will release a combined boxed set. A few years after that, the super-extended editions will be released, one at a time. Then the combined super-extended edition boxed set. After that, we will get the ultra-long director's cut, the 10th anniversary edition, the 25th anniversary edition, and so on.
Multiple GPS units have had similar "features" as well. Both of the Garmin units I own either power on/off the unit or turn on the backlight depending upon how long the button is depressed.
"In one story God smote with fire, the other with rain, both plentiful elemental forces, leading me to suspect these stories have even older roots than the bible."
I forget all of the details, but the story of the great flood originates from either the Babylonian or Sumerian mythos, long before Xianity. Most of the Xian stories from the Black Book of Fairy Tales originate from older religions in a similar fashion. But, then again, most older religions "borrowed" their tales from even older mythos as well.
Wouldn't that be a bit counter-productive for the game shop to hand them out? Unless it is a joke or something, they are telling their customers that they are wrong for buying their merchandise.

PAR is just a file. If you can still get to the PAR file, then you can most likely still get to the rest of the files on the disk. PAR doesn't address the issue of accessing the data once the FAT gets corrupted.
If this were true, couldn't you set up a script on your system to send a false undeliverable message back to the spammer to get yourself removed from the email list? If this works, I would think that more anti-spam applications would have this capability built in.
There was a video I saw a few years ago, some guy getting head in the upper levels of the stands at a baseball game. With wireless access and a web cam, you could create your own porn at the game!
I prefer football to baseball, but I always have my laptop when I am watching the game on TV to keep track of the scores of other games, look at player stats and team history. I don't think I would ever take my laptop to a game, but I would use a wireless PDA if the NFL offered this service.

Considering the partnerships that Tivo has made with DirecTV and Time Warner Cable, I don't see them going any anytime soon. Not to say never, but I believe that this announcement is a little premature.
Now, if you are talking about stand-alone Tivo units, yeah they will probably go away, but I am willing to accept that to have one component on my AV rack instead of two.
Of course, with the current discussion to allow 14 and 16 year olds vote in California, I can see even more issues arising out of this. Not to mention, candidates being voted in merely on coolness factor rather than any real political platform or experience.
And the citizens of California wonder why their state suffers from such a huge deficit.
With all of these people that get confused over the procedures to vote, it is my opinion that voting classes should be made available to teach people in various districts how to do it. Maybe even go to the extreme of marking those ballots with some identifier to show who did and did not attend the offered classes to provide statistics on whether the classes were effective or not.
If this training was proved to reduce lUser error, then maybe make it mandatory. It isn't like it wouldn't take much time to demonstrate how and test the people at the voting facility.
If someone cares enough to vote, then they should care enough to learn how to vote properly.
Actually, there are two examples of transporter malfunctions that I can think of.
During season one of the original series, Kirk gets beamed up and his "good" and "evil" sides become separate entities.
In Star Trek: The Motion Picture, the transporter's buffers lose their pattern and get shunted back to Star Fleet. When the Enterprise queries them to see if they were able to retrieve them, Star Fleet states "What arrived didn't live long. Fortunately."
Of course, the big thing that you are all forgetting: the editors probably cut the waiting bit out. You don't see them taking every single step from the bridge to engineering do you?
goatse@grafedia.net and tubgirl@grafedia.net both give you exactly what you would expect. Larva boob seems to be missing though.

No, entities sue entities. An entity can be either a person, corporation, ghost or AI, so you should be covered in all situations.
Yeah, but if everyone here spoke plainly, they wouldn't be able to use the Chewbacca defense to save themselves later.
