If by "back in my day" you mean last week, then yes. I learned PHP straight from the php.net documentation alone for a database project I did for class. Worked well enough for me.
Yet another excuse to not have to venture out into the daylight to visit a brick and mortar store and risk failing my "aversion to humanity" roll, -10 modifier.
J/K. This looks like an interesting idea, but I'll be passing on it.
I waited for her to drop in price, and now that she's lost a few pounds and has a slimmer profile, I can see myself spending the money to buy her....no, I'm talking about the new PStwo you sicko.
Well, after I RTFA, it seems to me that at most the performance difference is at most 11 FPS between the two high end products (6800 Ultra vs X800 XT PE). More often it was about 6-7 FPS difference between the two. Seems like nothing to get bent out of shape about.
Whee! Packaging!...ok, the novelty of that wore off quickly.
I'm going to keep on playing my GBA until I find out if any good games are coming out for the DS. So far all I've seen are the same "let's take this old game and port it to this new console" remakes. In the meantime, no new console purchases for me.
Perhaps it's not so much that he shouldn't talk about features, as perhaps the media that he talks with shouldn't report those features as "In the game" despite it being in development? So long as you precursor it with a disclaimer that they are ideas, and not yet reality, then it should be okay to have a discussion of ideas.
If you had RTFA, as well as the other articles on the site, you'd find that it's not anti-Phantom. It's a guy asking an honest question--where/is/ the Phantom? The fact that the answers tend to bash Infinitum Labs is more because of IL digging their own holes.
Unfortunately, some colleges are getting smart on the paper usage and have started to charge a per-sheet fee for printing.
Still cheaper than a printer, though.
And if your campus is still huge, get a bicycle, not a car. Good for your health, saves you a ton of money on gas and insurance. Just lock it up like you would anything valuable.
I have two of his books on my desk right now, since they're what the public library had available, and I've had nothing but a headache reading them. He assumes way too many concepts that a novice programmer would not be able to pick up--and this is in his "beginning X game programming" series of books, where X = type of api. They go back to the library today.
I won't buy a game until I've finished one of the games that I already own. Somewhere along the line I ended up with a few games that I still haven't played yet. So, I won't let myself buy a new game until I finish an older one.
Sure, I don't play newer games right away, but that allows for the price to drop down about $10-20, and I'm still enjoying the games that I already have.
The main thing is that if you're using their browser, then they can direct you to their standards of browsing. For instance, visit http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=fh;[ln];kbhowto in Firefox, then visit it in IE. You'll note that there's a drastic difference between the two content wise.
If MS has you using their browser, than they can tell web developers to make websites using their technology, with the assurance that what the developer makes is what the customers sees. Thus, MS makes money by selling developers on its standard vs anyone else's.
I know you say you're looking for a laptop, but for that price range, you're not going to find what you really want.
I'd say build yourself a small form factor pc. The plus side of this is that you get something that's still portable and will cost/much/ less than a laptop. The downside is that you'll need to haul / find a monitor wherever you go.
I have a Shuttle SN41G2 (http://www.shuttle.com/) and it works wonders.
David Hayter, voice actor for Solid Snake of Metal Gear Solid / Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes and Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance. Also, incidentally, the writer for X-Men and X-Men 2. Filmography at imdb.
There's a free GBA Programming Book available in.pdf format online at http://www.jharbour.com/
that's worth taking a look at if you're intersted in GBA Programming in general.
I'm tempted to try out this kit to see how it fares...$150 is a bit steep of a price for me right now though.

Have you looked at http://www.fullarmorstudios.com/ at all?
A cquiresFullArmorStudios.pdf
None of those games look like something I'd want to play anyway. I think we're safe from any of the huge game companies falling into this situation.
As for Full Armor Studios...well, I think I just heard their profits choke and die.
And the company to look out for is Zango, according to this press release: http://www.fullarmorstudios.com/news/180solutions
...is that none of the locations for it were in Hawaii. Oops, guess the islands are too small of a market for you guys.

I wouldn't discount Planetside, which has pulled quite a few FPS players into the fray.
You've discounted those gamers who play MMORPGs for profit. Therefore:
if(Gamer.Playertype != MMORPG)
Wallet.cash--;
else if(Gamer.Playertype.method == forprofit)
Walled.cash++;

but what I really want to know about is when EarthBound / Mother 3 is coming out.
I purchased mine through ajump.com
Nah. Final Fantasy XI: The Breakfast Cereal.
We know that isn't 150 hours of straight through playtime.
The "time to play" quantity is for the parent who's thinking, "Sweet! 150 hours of relaxation from the anxty teen!"
(This is in no way meant to imply that I support using videogames to detract from real parent-child interaction.)
Woah, Jennifer Hale also did Emma Emmerich in Metal Gear Solid 2: The Sons of Liberty? Wacky.
Then again, her entire filmography is impressive.

The census is awesome information, but it seems that the live feed at http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/multimedia/wind/ is a little bit...broken?
Looks like another thing I can buy and stick on my shelf to keep my Barcode Battler company.
