I would never agree to this if I were one of this guy's neighbors (assuming MY wireless connection were working). Why would I want to add another level of potential failure between me and Internet. Right now I have to have faith that Comcast is going to get the connection to my house, I don't want to have to also worry that my neighbor isn't going to pay his share of the bill or that Joe isn't going to accidentally unplug the router and the lock his door and go on vacation.
I don't know my neighbors. I don't trust my neighbors. I'm not interested.
I had a discussion once with a UPS or FedEx phone guy about having them come to pick up a shipment. I attempted to pay with a credit card and the gentlemen told me that the card had been rejected and that there were no other ways that I could pay. After being annoyed for a few minutes I gave up and hung up the phone.
A few minutes later I got a call back from the guy's supervisor who told me that everything the former guy told me was completely incorrect and that I could go ahead and pay with the credit card. It was great. I love call monitering.
I saw these in the store the other day at either Staples or Best Buy. I hadn't heard of them before so I took a pretty good lock at the box. It sure did sound promising... the quotes speeds and more importantly the quoted distances were really impressive. The price was a little bit high, I think it was 125 for the card and 125 for the router, but give them a few months and I'm sure it'll be cheaper.
I'm excited about distance improvements moreso than speed. Soon I'll be able to steal wireless connections from my neighbors down the street, not just those in the same building as me.
It's gotten a good amount of bad press, but this dual-hinge flip phone/windows PDA still seems like a winner to me. I'll find a way to compensate for the small memory.
Let me be the first to say...

I actually don't like or use tabbed browsing, I prefer to be able to see my windows on the task bar... but yes, I'd consider Maxthon. Let me go take a look at it.
Side note, I've had almost no trouble with sites that don't take Mozilla. I guess I've been fortunate in that respect. The one site I've had trouble with? You guess it,/.
I'm not going to even consider going back to IE unless they're able to include extensions just as useful and as open as Mozilla has. Firefox with Adblock, and all the other handy add-ons has changed the way I browse. I don't want to go back.
Whether your not you're a big fan of Windows, it's hard to argue that Palm is a better OS for a PDA. The windows based devices are simply much more functional and much better at dealing with desktop interaction. I suppose a Linux based handheld would be fine as well, but I have no experience with those.
Awww... comon, you had the chance for a legitimate +5 goatse link there and you wasted it. You've got to grab that sort of chance when it arises (gotta keep the pun thing going, I guess).
I know it's had some setbacks, but I've been desperate for a phone that does a good job of combining Pocket PC with phone function, without it having the form factor of a PDA. I'm tired of carrying around two devices, and I can't get rid of either one.
I can deal with not have access to the keyboard with the dual hinge... I don't use a keyboard now, I use a stylus. That's not a problem for me. I don't want an exposed to be scratched screen (like the Treo) and I don't want a tiny, non-touch display (like the Motorola MPX-220). And I do want Pocket PC (unlike the other options out there) so I can sync with Outlook.
Are there any other options for me out there?

This policy is a GOOD thing. If you're looking to start out in an industry, you should expect to work long hours for little pay when you first start. If you don't like that, you can always look for work elsewhere... but guess what, everyone WANTS to work for EA Games. People know what they're getting into, I don't think there's any trickery involved.
People, if you don't like your working conditions, especially people as highly skilled as computer programers, you should find yourself a new job. Or find an avenue for promotion at your current job that you would leave you with less lengthly responsibilities.
It's not quite out yet, but the Motorola MPX looks like it's going to be a great combination of PDA and phone. It's got a snazzy dual hinge clamshell design which will allow it to open vertically to function as a phone, and then open horontally to function as a Pocket PC PDA.
It's supposed to be out sometime in the next three or four months.
Ok, I like Firefox and all, but I really don't care much one way or the other if it gets bad PR. It's not Slashdot's job to protect Firefox from negative comments... and if there's an actual issue out there I think we're all better off if we hear about it. Firefox is good enough that it can stand a few criticisms now and then, even incorrect criticisms. If the bad PR crushes the movement, then it wasn't really much of a movement to begin with, was it?
If you're in the mood for a chuckle, check out this contest that City of Heroes had for people to dress up like their hero. Some of them are actually pretty good. Who would have thought?
It will only get out of hand if someone mounts a gun on a robot that roams the streets and can be controlled from a webpage. A stationary gun on what is essentially a shooting range that can be fired by a webpage user is not going to endanger anyone's life. (Unless, of course, the idiot who built the damn thing wanders in front of it while it's still on).
And yes, you'd still be guilty. Just because you cannot be tracked, doesn't mean you're not responsible.
Yes, but integration is free with a Pocket PC and it looks as though Documents to Go can cost up to $90 depending on what level of functionality you want. Free versus $90 + having to go through the trouble of buying and installing it. I'm going with free.
My guess would be everybody's favorite ex-Mayor Rudi Guilliani. He's got government experience. He's a former district attorney who fought the mafia. He's conservative. AND he's been shilling like hell for Bush the last few months.
My guess is that this has all already been worked out and the resignation and nomination were all worked out weeks ago. All part of the plan to groom him to run for Prez in '08 or '12.

You'd buy the Commodore name too, if your name was Yeahronimo. What a bad name.

Where'd you get 68 dollars? I want 68 dollars!
I can't get it on the DVD for you, but now you can have it online.
Here you go: Star Wars Kid
It does indeed look like a contrail now that you mention it. If it just lined up with a coincidentally exploding lamppost we'd be all set.
It actually looks like there's something on fire below the lamppost and the smoke is curling up... don't know about that.
How do you block Google ads?
It doesn't make any difference if I block ads, it only matters if everyone else blocks ads. One adblocker makes no difference.

If Walmart created a web interface for their data, would the amount of data on the Internet suddenly triple?
I think the expert they got their information from was full of baloney.
Maybe Radiohead holds the rights to the term?
