the marketing costs are listed in the breakdown, but that list is less than honest. Is a video marketing? I would say yes. The cost of the video is actually shared with the artist, so half of that is coming from the royalties. Many of the costs listed are really pulled from the artist, so the numbers are pure for the record industry side, and cause bankruptcy for the artist.

The real costs are closer for the indies replying here, and the fluff of the industry is totally wrong. Hopefully walmart can get them to realise this.

This would be all fine and good, but you said "safest possible technology",and by this I thought that you meant the "safest possible technology". This would include large breaks, tight suspensions, computer corrected handling, roll detection, anti-slip monitoring, top end wheels and tires, etc. These things cost a lot. But since you meant seat belts and radiator hoses as the "safest possible technology", I guess what you're saying is correct even if it is completely rooted in fantasy.

Congressionally mandated safety has nothing to do with safest possible because every car manufacturer would go out of business in that model, which does no good for anyone. Including economically feasible now is silly, as your statement (if you need reminding) was "safest possible technology".

And, by the way, there are different levels of safety on different planes. Some have integrated parachutes, some have very accurate GPS and are rated to fly in worse weather than others, and some are built in people's garages or qualify as experimental. Not all have best possible, some have as much as the purchaser deems necessary.

So then, no car should be built without all of the safest available options. This would put the base level car well beyond the means of many people. So now, only the "rich" drive, the "poor" walk or ride bikes, and you will complain how it is unfair that everyone doesn't have access to cars. Safety has gone down in this scenario as getting hit by a car while riding a bike is always bad.

    Uhm, WRONG.

the textbook is approved for teaching specific subjects. Straying off to wherever the teacher feels like going is not education. There is a neat thing called a curriculum. I plan on teaching my kids my own version of the world also, but I am not going to force the world to tolerate my version of events. You are proposing teaching non-science in science classes. I would much rather have to add in my views on top of the generally accepted instead of having to explain away items that should not have been presented in the first place. The act of being taught non-science in science class wastes time.

This is why when I moved back to Ga I got an apartment near the Lindberg station. I had Peachtree, Piedmont, 400, the connector, and MARTA all at short distances. When I got a job I was going to have a semi quick shot at it, instead of trying to drive through traffic to the perimeter, and then through traffic to the office. Really, traffic inside 285 is light almost always (annoying as hell, but light).

At one point I was working downtown and my engine fully died. No big deal, I could walk 5 minutes to the train, and get to work in 20 minutes. Now I have a new job that isnt MARTA friendly, like most of Atlanta, but I chose to pay a premium to live inside the perimeter and have shorter commutes instead of purchasing gas and justifying the hours a day in my car. My time simply means enough to me to decide to spend my money on the location of the house.

This of course requires a bit a vigilance and personal responsibility, oh ya, and actually holding respect for others as a meaningful value, but is possible as long as we arent a world of sheep.
