Here's a random thought: If we were to detect (with sufficient warning) an incoming comet on collision course for Earth, could this thing be reoriented so the microwave beam begins to ablate material off the comet and change the trajectory?

I don't see why not. The hard part would be guestimating just how hitting a comet with the beam will change its trajectory.

Would it be feasible to put solar collectors outside of earths orbit which in turn transmit to earth orbiting satalties that then relay down.

Could we put something closer to the Sun and leap from back to earth more effeciently than solar winds do?

Why would putting the collector closer to the sun make it more efficient? At least to the degree where the extra complexity would make it wortwhile.

Think of it this way. The stuido CCP has its own Real World Transfer system. You can buy Game Time Codes and sell them to other players for in game money. This has the basic effect of "buying gold" except that 100% of the money goes to the stuido.

The effect of this was not to reduce their revenue, but likley to increase it, this wont stop people from buying, it will just cause them to buy from the studio itself. Effectively they banned their competitors in the gold buying market.

However I will theorize that this will have less of an effect of the in game economy. Since the RMT transfers are happening anyhow, this simply cuts the dependency of the resources. Those 2% of users were likely macro-miners and missioners, and were using a large amount of resources comparatively.

Actually, I think this is brilliant. Think about it, Fox News does not compete with CNN or the other "real" news sources. People who go to Fox are specifically looking for Right Wing pandering blowhards like Bill O'Rielly. Since these people cant stand the "liberal media" they will happily pay money to Rupert in order to get the same slanted stories and cheap tricks that they want. People who use services like Google News tend to ignore outlets with an obvious bias, so they were not going to use Rupert's services anyhow.

The original usenet spam was perpetrated by people who honestly believed there was nothing wrong with subjecting people to a flood of crap. A "car accident" (or heck, a standard homicide, those are common enough, just nick the guy's wallet so it looks apolitical) would have been much more professional.

I disagree. If you have completely expendable agents.
