to those that allow MTV to tell them what to like. Now they don't get the full experience of being brainwashed by the crappy music, moronic presenters, and brain-dead audience.
There was an addon called the SuperCPU which added a 20Mhz CPU and some RAM. It was sold by CMD but I think they have discontinued their C= stuff. Check EBay or better yet Google.
There's also something called the Commodore One in development which is planned to be a 100% compatible clone with more horsepower though information on this is very scarce.
If you had to use a Travolta flick, why not pick something more entertaining? Just imagine Han Solo gettin' down in the disco a la Saturday Night Fever? *boogies* Ahhh Ahhh Ahhh Ahhh, Usin' the Force, Usin' the Force.
Don't have time to see if this is redundant, but I have to point out RKO as "The Def Guide to C64 remakes" that has been around for a couple years and boasts over 1000 Commodore 64 remixes, and it's constantly growing. There is an excellent community growing around the C64 remix scene, of which I am proud to be a part! (my mixes are under ruiner, download them many times and vote for me on remix64;)
AFAIK Sony and other console companies do indeed make money off the actual console, and the retailers don't. While working at a retailer I checked the mark-ups on Playstations and their games and it seems that sony'd make more money off the part they sold us for $150-ish and we marked up 1% than for the part they sold us for $25 and we marked up 50%. Naturally more cash does come through game sales, but I'm sure they don't lose money on the actual console.
A Cracker is one who defeats copy protection security on software.
A Hacker is one who defeats an OS's security for whatever reason.
Quake 3 was cracked, Slashdot was hacked. Got it?
Please, stop hanging on to the outdated definitions, you don't get anywhere like that.
And when is someone going to port the linux kernel to the commodore 64?
I feel compelled to point you to 98lite.net. This is a collection of install scripts and a front end to them that allows a nice custom install of windows. Also on there are utils to allow for the complete removal of "built-in" apps like IE.
IMHO lucas should have stopped with the THX releases of ep 4-6. The pure CG scenes in the Special Edition and most of the additions to existing scenes really really looked fake. Ep 1's use of computers was better, but still weren't very immersive. props to the animators though, there was plenty of detail in the character's movements, but they didn't even look like they were really there. Gimmie back my plastic models and green screen!
Uhm, he wasn't fighting the online music tech. It's the method of distribution. Napster is out and out piracy. That's not legal, ya know. As an amateur musician, napster user, and big time Metallica fan I'm able to see all the points each party has made. There are plenty of valid points, and too many closed minds.

I cry for them.
Going to the Supreme Court could be far worse than not going. What if they also rule against 2600? That's something that'd be hard to over-rule.
AOL charges $10+ more a month than most other ISPs how could they be losing money?

of this crashing my computer. Anyone notice how the artists at the top of the charts don't have copy protected CDs?
