But that "someone" wasn't the original FlasKMPEG programmers. So, it is not an issue of the MPAA being able to sue the creators/maintainers of the FlasKMPEG software, but quite possibly the people who wrote the "altered" copy....
while that may be possible, I would have to wonder what would happen if it is a fully sealed tooth decay preventative device -- if the teeth need air from the outside, this could cause weird decay.
I currently own an Agfa E-photo 1200, and with a lens adaptor, you can screw what ever lens you would like on to it:) I haven't had a chance to try this... but from what I've read, it works wonderfully!
My other complaint about digital cameras, though, is the ever-so-steady hand that's needed for crisp pictures... time to buy a tri-pod...
to add, it was every processor from 350+... I have a 450, and it's notoriously worse than a 350 that an old roomate had -- but this was an issue that I saw in 95b, and had to boot to "safe" and issue the patch every single time I'd re-load my main system.
I've got a yamaha burner as well, and it works great, but the one thing that I noticed a few years ago -- there are IDE burners out there that work just as well for less. I think they've got an advantage in the "value" pc, which seems to be what most "consumers" are buying...
And as far as adaptec cards? They are good, but I think they're slightly expensive... of course, the cables are what will get you, if the card doesn't. I've got a modest LAN at home, and while I've seen the virtues of SCSI, I have no need for it at home as far as a storage solution -- IDE with 2-3 users seems to work just fine.
Also, I bought a promise ata-100 card for 40-50 bucks about 2 months ago, and using the "one drive per controller" method seems to make linux a little more responsive.
oh dear lord -- someone who has a love for the Gradius series as myself....
I can only hope you read this, but if you're interested in Gradius 3, maybe you'd like to grab a mod-chipped playstation and buy a copy (about 20-25$ if I remember when I purchased mine) of Gradius 3 - japan... I know it's not MAME or anything, but the playstation version is AWESOME to say the least... I e-mailed Konami about releasing this gem in the states, and they have no plans to... ugh...
This is something I've wanted to post for a really long time -- we seem to see so much hatred on Slashdot for "popular" music, and while I'm not a big mainstream music person, I'm not going to dispute the fact that there are a lot of people who do like pop.
Thanks for putting this into words that I couldn't fathom...
as a prior owner of an 85 firebird v6 (have a 95 Z tho) How is this possible? One (myself) would think that the tranny wouldn't be able to keep up with the stress...
Maybe that was when they made only one transmission and you had to deal, tho..
Sports cars are fun to drive. I can get close to 30mpg in my 1995 Z28. Granted, it's no porsche or BMW, but dear lord, does it put your head back in the seat if you're an unknowing passenger (as my girlfriend slaps me for stomping on the gas.)
I enjoy the SUV driving as well, but I really think zipping around in a low, zippy car is more fun!
The uplink trick is fine for most people, but I think a lot of people with somewhat "valuable" data on their home networks (many gigs of MP3's, anyone???) would want some sort of block between them and that dsl box -- hence the router/firewall combo boxen that are popping up EVERYWHERE.
Is anyone else out there just a little too miffed about "extra" stuff on DVD's? I can give examples either way, but my main thing is that most of the extras are just useless... I just want to pay 20$ for a movie, give me a good quality film and leave me alone.:)
Now, outtakes I find are funny, but 20 or 30 menus to just see how the director lined up one shot is boring.... that's my 2cents.
This sounds similar to every NEXTEL phone that I've ever seen -- it has the power on the bursts of digital data that can actually put a stereo or simple computer speakers into fits whenever it bursts.....
I remember one of the reasons I originally started programming were the game consoles at the time -- the NES, SNES etc all started my desire to program something.... well, cool looking.
I think the drawback to young folk trying to program today is that there are so many "wasters of time" that they have at their disposal that if you were to set them down at a machine and teach them to program, they'd get frustrated easily and fire up Unreal Tournament etc....
I know if I had had the games / utilities / programs then that I have now, I'd probably not have even gotten started. It takes a sincere desire to learn programming at ANY age...:)
I think this would fall under the realm of "just how much does it cost ME?"
People think they can do this in the online world because they are not incurring much cost (other than dial up/cable/whatever access). Why wouldn't someone attempt to copy the new york times and distribute it?
Real world cost.
It doesn't take anything but a few clicks or a bot or two to distribute ANY digital media. Online or offline. All you need to do is have easy access to an available accepted "format" (in this case, probably.jpg's of the picture data) so that all the world can see/hear/read/interperet.
"And if Napster took some steps to eliminate copyright violation, it would be a great service. ESPECIALLY for up-and-coming artists because then, that's the only music that would be on Napster, but as it is... "
NAPSTER ROCKS
I know this may sound like a troll, but hear me out.... Just how many people would USE napster if it just had up-and-coming artists (non-RIAA) on it?
I know of a man I work with, of which he shared the fact that his SON had found out about napster, and was downloading and burning cd's using the family computer, and the man didn't seem even the least bit concerned about the copyright violations.
But, I'll bet if Napster did not have copyrighted material on it, his son wouldn't have ever heard of it.
Of course, I'm not questioning cd-quality, but it's a possibility that the laser in your unit is going bad as well. I had a similar issue about 5 years ago -- playback just kept getting worse and worse. 100$ later, playing just fine, new laser and all...... and it still works to this day.
isn't that being agnostic?
you just hit the nail on the head.
People who buy the 1.6ghz are either trying to number crunch faster, or play games faster...
not necessarily try to run them as servers.
But that "someone" wasn't the original FlasKMPEG programmers. So, it is not an issue of the MPAA being able to sue the creators/maintainers of the FlasKMPEG software, but quite possibly the people who wrote the "altered" copy....
get it? got it. Good god.
while that may be possible, I would have to wonder what would happen if it is a fully sealed tooth decay preventative device -- if the teeth need air from the outside, this could cause weird decay.

that's funny. I bought a promise ata-100 card, and granted, it's a pre-2.4 kernel, but it fires up just fine.... :)
to add, it was every processor from 350+... I have a 450, and it's notoriously worse than a 350 that an old roomate had -- but this was an issue that I saw in 95b, and had to boot to "safe" and issue the patch every single time I'd re-load my main system.
I'm planning on a thunderbird soon.
*shake* *shake* *shiver*
I remember how awed I was to get a cassette tape recorder for my ti-99/4a... it was like a godsend to not lose programs when I shut off the machine!!!
But really, someday 75gigs will be a drop in the bucket.
oh dear god, I thought with 75gigs in my one box (150gigs total house) that I was king. I didn't know anyone else with more space...
I bow to you!
nope -- he meant 4 controllers (two primary, two secondary) with 2 devices on each.
Sorry, had to nitpick back...

It's not the size that counts...
It's how you name it.
Watch Orgasmo sometime (funny pre-baseketball movie)....
