So MMX12 and SSE8 instructions will be translated and executed in a compatable manor. General purpose processors like the x86 will truely become general purpose. Think of it like the old DirectX paradigm. Whatever hardware acceleration exists, it is used, otherwise it's software emulated. It's all byte code and it runs nominally just as fast as hardware instuctions.

So coming out with a hot game that is exclusive to the Wii 2 and Macs would go a long way to promoting apple's bottom line.

You buy a windows licence and microsoft will give you virtualzation software and setup and install linux for you. The only time anyone needs to worry about patent litigation I think is when they get between MS and it's tax. Linux compatability is now a windows feature. Getting linux to work well with windows is desirable. Think about it, if they give you linux they can tell the EU regulators to go stick it. Let me repeat myself, so long as MS gets our money they are happy. MS is currently taking the advice of keeping it's enimies closer to heart. They really need to get together with Intel and AMD. Virtualization is the future. Windows is destined to become a segmented product with multiple versions. Different products for different puposes simplifies everything. Everything in it's own VM. VM Appliances. The OS and Microsoft applications will become one through a reincarnated Windows CE.
We will have "Windows Media Center" for games and all that DRM goodness.
We will have "Windows Office" for business applicaitons.
We will have "Windows Server" for Internet applications.

In order to defame someone in my opinion you have to be someone that others listen to; i.e. someone with some measure of authority. Sounds to me like this woman hardly has a pot to piss in, I can't hardly imagine her ruining a persons business.
DRM is impossiable without chip level hardware security. There is going to be a whole new product field of new software that disables and replaces windows code security. Programs which actually give control of your computer back to you. But while it's won't stop computer infection (where there is a bug hole there is a way) it certainly raises the security bar for the basic default windows setup I install on (non nerd) family and friends computers.
Even with chip level security I'd be drilling into chips and hot wiring them if needed or purchase pre hot wired hardware if the modification equipment was beyond my means. I will never stop striving for control of my own property even if control is an illusion.
