hmmm... well I'm also 26, and I've gone back and tried to play Marathon, that was so amazing in late '94/early '95, and I couldn't even play it for very long. Games are *much* better now.
So, while we're at it, how about a player that can handle the lossless compression format flac. I have all my CDs converted to flac, and am holding out for a portable player (preferably >15GB) that can play flac files and read ID3v2 tags. *That* would be nirvana.
I think the key is not try to multitask. During the internet boom people who could multitask well were considered amazing. I've tried to keep a bunch of things in my head at once (keeping up on/., etc), but it doesn't work - I get nothing done.
I'm going to have to pick one and only one thing to work on at a time and focus on that. Once I finish that, I'll make the decision of what to work on next.
You have a valid point on some of your criticisms of Republicans, but on others, Democrats are actually the stronger offenders.
Democrats are more likely to legislate wiretapping the internet and required censorware. I know John Ashcroft doesn't reinforce that statement, but the real power is in the US Supreme Court. And Republican nominations to the Supreme Court uphold freedom more strongly than Democrat judges (eg Scalia and Thomas).
Yep. "menu" is so nice, I could never move to another distro that didn't have a similar feature. If gentoo had this I would give it a shot. But I'll probably wait until gentoo has 4k packages before really considering a switch - IOW, unlikely.
I wonder if this new Apple display will be the first to incorporate Mitsubishi's Feed Forward Display Technology. Then we'd finally be able to watch full motion video and play QuakeIII on our LCD Displays - and I'd actually consider owning one.
I'm not talking about the power to wipe out a country... I'm talking about the power to wipe out all the selected targets in a country. Big difference.
I swear, linux zealots insist that monopolies are wrong and people have choices for the OS they run, but they want linux to be the only choice.
Nope. You read me wrong. I'm not really anti-MS... I think the gov. should basically leave them alone. But that's because they don't really stand a chance against free software. Sure MS will evolve, but they can't beat the economy of free software.... especially as free software gets closer and closer to the feature set MS has.
It is obvious.
But I don't want linux to be the only choice. I think FreeBSD will always be around. And hopefully GNOME will always give KDE a run for it. But commodity-proprietary software like Windows is just plain doomed.
Dude. You're pretty dense. A simple search will show you how involved AOL/Time-Warner is with the DMCA and it's ilk. Alan has repeatedly stated (and correctly stated) how American's rights are being erroded by these laws. It is these laws, that he has been against. And it is these laws which A/T-W support.
Alan Cox is in a position to use it notariety to bring some evil things to public attention. I say good for him.
dude. I just got an SGI Indy R4400 24bit color 64MB/1GB Irix 6.5.10 for $60. Personally I think it's a great deal after seeing the same thing going for ~450 on the web sites that sell refurbished SGIs.

Because reading the idsoftware site requires flash, and some of us dont' have flash installed.

you owe me a new microwave.
I should add, that I realized this aftering reading that the batch method is the way Knuth works.

That's the play, anyway.
me too. this should be my last post...
RIGHT NOW!

I'm suffering mightily with a PII-400 and Matrox G200 - holding out until I know I'll have a system good enough for Doom3.
Yep. "menu" is so nice, I could never move to another distro that didn't have a similar feature. If gentoo had this I would give it a shot. But I'll probably wait until gentoo has 4k packages before really considering a switch - IOW, unlikely.
Taco prefers win XP so he can play games.
I power my antigrav device with collapsing water bubbles. I'm hovering as I type this!
Even better would be flac support which is LGPL'd, supports ID3 tags and works very well.

if you drive, you might die.
think about it.
Apple users are... different... they need to be separated from the rest so they can wallow in their delusions.
We can always count on you Mac fanboys to forget that an Athlon kicks the Shit out of a G$ for 1/2 the cost.
Apples will forever be the domain of those who don't care much for performance.

If we had bigger weapons, we could wipe out ever desired target in a country out in an afternoon. That's the cold hard truth you weren't looking for.
It saves American lives too. That's the beauty.
Carmack and Torvalds should have a child...

it's been obvious since '98 that sun/sgi don't have any real longer term viability with solaris/irix.
Oh... MS you're next. It's obvious that KDE will make you obsolete in several years.

So does anyone know how performance is affected from this 4MB->4KB page thing?
