You really need to look at your long term costs... the power to run your computer in the long run is likely to account for a significant fraction of the overall price, so you should factor that in.
If you live in the US, you do realize they cannot legally exclude any preexisting conditions when you switch employers right?
As long as your coverage is continuous, which again is within your power to control with COBRA in the US, pre-existing conditions transfer to your new health plan just fine in all 50 states, or even if you move. I've done this twice myself across both plans and states.
Why indeed? Presumably for politics and publicity, since robot probes are cheaper AND more effective. Lock designs that are unbeatable without specific equipment are well known, so while on earth you might have to worry about thieves or lockbreaks who have the right equipment no matter what you do, there's no particular reason to include such (heavy!) equipment on a mission to mars.
I think Jack Thompson would agree that he has been behaving most ethically according to these guidelines. Note that he has never, to his knowledge, misstated distorted or exaggerated any facts, and I think we'd all have to agree that he has not been silent or inactive in this whole process.
Man, when I worked in the games industry I dreamed of only having to work 70 hours per week. And those were often waking dreams because they didn't let me get a lot of sleep.
Man, he really should have learned early on that B&N won't charge you for their books if you just read them in the store.
He also should have given serious thought to going to a school that doesn't require a major commitment in the first two years. Then he could have taken courses in all 3 areas of interest, and postponed making a decision long enough to realize that Philosophy and English offer no better odds of being employed than computer science. Then he could have just made his decision based on what he really liked.
Much like the government contracts out most of its services to corporations, so does the CIA. The CIA needs/wants some technology that doesn't exist. They could build it all themselves, or give the taxpayer a break by hiring a company with a similar product to make the changes they need.
You want your government agencies to do this, it encourages efficiency (as bad as things are now, they would be worse without this process in place).
For developers, this can be very useful, particularly if they can get it up to date on the newer pixel and vertex shaders for the simple reason that running your application on the real hardware can nuke your system, and running in the existing microsoft renderer is painfully slow. This could provide a useful compromise.
Good will / Trust of your ISP is the only thing keeping you safe. Think about who you would have to infiltrate to implement your scam. You'd have to break into/become an employee of the ISP or higher of your target. The scam target would then sue their ISP. This is why most ISPs have some procedures in place to help prevent such an event from taking place.
I doubt it. If the internet were invented in Sweden, the US would act unilaterally and set up its own root servers. We don't like to do much through the UN.
We can't stop other countries from setting up their own root servers if they want to, except militarily. Are we really going to go to war to stop them (sadly, in this administration, this is not quite a rhetorical question)?
Likewise, when slashdot repeats a story, a lot of posters will try to repost the highest ranked posts from the previous story in an attempt to get karma, and moderating such posts redundant is an appropriate way to punish this behavior, even if such a post is the first post, or any early post.
I bought a dell 9300 for the same reason (the 1920x1200 17" display). The display is gorgeous, and I'm happy to say I'm not having any problems with wear after roughly 7 months. It's heavy, though, and not due to the display. I wish somebody would sell a lightweight, large screen notebook. I don't need performance since I do all my computing on another machine, I just need the display. Would be nice if they offered a better keyboard, too. Mine wastes close to 3 inches side to side, but that's not as big an issue as the weight.
Note, an AC reported this not working: the actual problem was most likely on the AC's side, this application requires Java 5, since I wrote it as an experiment in learning some of the new features of Java 5. If you don't have Java 5 installed correctly, you'll get a class loader version error.
hmm. forgot the line break in my sig. there should be a preview.

Ask your prospective employer if they offer superior raises to overperforming employees, and what kind of range such a raise might be in.
I always ask this question, and as a result, i've never had a raise less than 9%.
Hey, with 5 users that's a 25% daily growth rate since yesterday. If these trends continue, zow!
That seems too technicals. Let's just go with w-triple, or 'WWW' for short.

No-sex enforcement is traditionally accomplished with chastity belts, male and female versions available and tested for centuries.

Ultimately everything is made just by putting enough atoms together, why should there be patents at all?

I knew it, Disney will go to any lengths for a promo!

I just embezzled a million dollars from Al-Qaeda you insensitive clod!
Thank you, that was hilarious.

I am absolutely with you on that. Having to go for a 24" external LCD to get 1920 is just too big.

It seems to be fine. Did it not work for you? I only see about 4 games played, so I doubt if enough slashdotters visited the page to nuke it.
