That tiny compiler was why I decided to implement my new HTML editor project in BF. The BF compiler and a batch processor fit in the L1 cache of my cpu and the compile time is just nothing. Debugging is also trivial because once you get the hang of things the simplicity of BF syntax lets you be immediately familiar with what any piece of code is doing. BF is great!

It's unlikely anyone officially speaking for intel would say this, as the potential need for 64bit desktops has been clear for long enough that it would look pretty stupid for them to make such a claim. Not that it rules out the possibility, but it would be exceptionally dumb.

The need for 64bit desktops to deal with multigigabyte multimedia is clearly in our near future. It may be 4-5 years before most desktop users feel the need for a 64 bit system, but it seems unlikely to be much longer than that.

You may have heard intel claims that they saw no immediate need for 64bit on the desktop. By the time they release 64bit on the desktop, those claims will have been nearly a Moore's Law old.

This thinking almost got Diablo II. Basically one of the bosses was an extreme killer and was dead set against allowing cooperative players to opt out of the killer's game. It took close to 3 months of arguing to get as much cooperative support as we did in the end.

So based on this plus a sampling of discussions with people who worked on other games that the core problem is an overrepresentation of the killer point of view among developers.

But the trend towards > 50% discounts is definitely there. I get half off or buy one get one free on almost everything, and sometimes the discounts reach 66%. If I can wait 2 weeks to buy something, then I can usually find it for 1/2 off in that span of time. Once in a while I have to buy milk at full price because it just doesn't last me that long in the small space I have in my refridgerator, but that's about the only thing that I typically can't wait out the 'sale' on.
