I agree! Despite any so-called global warming angle to this, it's just plain cool that these logs are still around.
Anybody know if they're online somewhere?
This is a pretty good idea, if it can be pulled off. Leaving aside the nonsense about climate change it's a Good Thing Anyway, though I'm a bit worried about overall durability compared to a layer of asphalt.
I wish them the best!
I was able to have it purged a few years ago once I found out that they did this. It was quick and easy, and I made visual confirmation that (at least in my records at the local office) it was gone.
Dear Lord, can we PLEASE stick to the concrete discussion without bringing global warming (happening or not) into the picture?
This process appears to be less wasteful and have some benefits; that's enough without opening nigh-religious arguments.
Interesting idea. I'd like to see some numbers I think.
Some enviros are blaming an apparent (though unproven) reduction in wind speeds wordwide on "global warming". If one accepts their theory that man's actions are affecting the planet, then the possibility that windmills might do the same must also be contemplated.
What a horrible, poorly-thought out idea this stupid bill represents.
Getting to a cleaner method of energy production? YES.
Doing it this way? NO.
Obama voters -- sorry yet?
I don't think you've been paying attention--we've had "advancements" like this making the Slashdot front page for years. None are on the market yet....maybe this will be the one.
Not true in all cases....here, it's probably something like Use Taxes and/or property taxes that are getting out of control.
Sure, all taxes can be passed on to the customer but that just drives folks to things like Macs and Linux, so there are limits there.
I can very much see while they're looking at doing exactly this.....hopefully Washington (both the state and the DC incarnation) will get its act together and stop leveraging so much nonsense on successful companies.
How very short-sighted.
The guys who are "no longer interested" still have around 10,000 warheads pointed in our direction. And the bad guys who "can't reach us" today are working hard to fix that little problem....
Seems like having missiles that are based underwater and hence hard to find isn't a bad idea at all.
What a sad, sad day for America....
Doh! I see in TFA that they are going online next year. Yay!

I don't really think this is news.....

Funniest. Video. Of. The. Year.

...I'll never buy DRM media. Bet my MONEY keeps working for ya, doesn't it gang?

Great Odin! They want $50K+ for that thing? It's a nice car but not that nice...sorry.
So we can *fake* it by artificially raising the prices of better, cheaper, more power-dense energy sources?
No, they didn't.
Obama got 52% of the vote. Palin/McCain got 48%.
"Americans" as a group did NOT vote for Obama, nor did they endorse either his policies or his plans.
His supporters know how thin his margin of support is; they must be desperate to exaggerate it.

Well said.

Between this and the Congressional idea of a VAT tax, don't folks "get it" that it's never enough with these guys?
Yeah...it was kinda hard to tell.... Now the left-wingnuts have him. Good riddance.
Heh...clearly! Okay then, on the List of Things Obama Has Done Right--that's one.....
...when the government messes in things not in its job description? Laws should have specific purposes with specific goals.
Obama voters - sorry yet?
I totally agree with this sentiment. The very organization that discourages information sharing is responsible for information loss in this case.
