any currency change would be gradual and would be planned in tandem with vending machine manufacturers

This isn't a troll (a little offtopic, perhaps), but a genuine question: I can understand the government (OUR government) giving a public statement regarding currency changes, but would they actually work in tandem with the vending machine manufactures? I mean, I know corporate entities have gained a stronghold on gov't policy through soft moneys and hard lobbyists, but so much so that our gov't treats each tiny industry as a protected species? Anyone else know the phrase "It takes money to make (a new sensor for a device to correctly detect) money"?

True, but not accurate. If I am rounding to the third decimal, I get the same answer whether my source is 45.952456687321, or 45.95245668732156654687651684357. Granted, video compression is more complicated than that, but for what you are suggesting, it's comparable. That being said, you are entirely correct: if you are happy with a low end format now, you will be happy with it tomorrow.

    (b) there are a hell of a lot more people who don't want smoking venues than do. By your own argument, banning smoking is exactly what we should do.

BS. This (the US) is a capatalist society. As such, people open business and run them in an attempt to maximize their revenue. If there was a majority that prefer non-smoking venues thats what we would see as venues.
I am sick to death of this "I can't go to XYZ bar because it restricts my freedoms, and damages my health." You don't like the smoke/nudity/attitude/food/UV Blacklights? Too bad, go somewhere else. Some music infers racial and sexist remarks too, you want stop all music venues from playing it, since you think it's degrading and could be harmfull to a handfull of spineless, play-doh heads? It's called a private business because the owner gets to decide what it's gonna be and how it's gonna get run. Don't approve? Don't eat there. Not good enough? Get take out. Still not good enough? Complain to the owner. If he doesn't change anything, then go somewhere else, and stop being a dick.

I can reduce your causes to 1) communication problems 2)Poor Judgment Faculties 3) Lack of foresight, and planning
Which can further be reduced to an inability to clearly see the present situation, compare it to the past, and apply said information toward future goals. All of humanities issues can be attributed to these three things, whether or not it involves someones death. That we have an "administration to blame", doesn't fix anything; unfortunately it makes it easier to dismiss the problem by pointing to a scapegoat. The GP was correct in that we need perspective, but it should be a perspective of erudition, not apathy.

Your complaints about beating a dead horse aside (I'm adressing both Brkello and DeadChobi), My initial comment was a response to EA complaints about how they only pull in 45% profit after development and marketing instead of 65% (actual numbers may vary). It was my way of saying "Too bad EA; prices are jacked up all over the place, and the last place I want to hear from about it is a megacorporation who's bottom line business practices and profit before peole attitude jacked up all the prices in the first place!" You guys chose to view that as yet another console bitch session, and responded with the standard ilk. IOW, you were modded offtopic for missing the topic. I hope that clarifies things for both of you.

Oh yeah, and the $699 was a typo.
