That's why we changed the way Mail works, creating a new mail message file format (emlx) that's basically an mbox-style mail message concatenated with an XML property list. That way we can store a message and all relevant metadata in one file..
Does that mean installing 10.4 over 10.3 will mean Mail 2 cannot read Mail 1 mbox files or will they be converted?
How can I export from emlx to mbox in case I ever want to defect from the default mail client?
I used to forward my catchall domain to an IMAP I read using Mail.App that consistently misdiagnosed stuff, but I did not really see the volume till I switched the forwarding to Gmail last night and this morning found it had caught all 170 spams sent overnight.
Even though it has caught a few falsely, I find it easier to check this in Gmail for some reason.
Enabling firewall breaks everything - I guess that's why it went largely untouched despite inspiring the launch of the entire SP2 project.
This article lists all the ports that remain open in SP2 and says "SP2 does disable a few Windows services related to networking that have not previously been disabled by default, which certainly is an improvement. Unfortunately, too many services remain."
Also unix has had instant searches in the form of locate or slocate commands for several years if not decades. Meanwhile a simple filename search in XP will take a few minutes even on an indexed disk.
My suspicion is that we could see this start very soon, or hold off for up to three years while MS establishes its commercial licensing program. If they wait to get about 10,000 licensees in their commercial program, they will be able to show in court that they license the patents "reasonably" and that will make them more difficult to fight.
According to Orlowski:
However even Steve Jobs' Reality Distortion Field began to wobble when he described how the Safari Browser "has always been at the cutting edge." (Only if you've been stuck in a time capsule since 1995, and are still impressed with Netscape 2.0, we reckon). Safari will get Arse-Feed support (both RSS and Atom) in the next version, which the audience met with a stunned silence.
It would also be nice to see the junk filter learn a bit quicker before thunderbird 1.0 but perhaps it's just me without clean installs that finds the junk thing never seems to learn my lack of viagrinterest.
When responding to mail, gmail inserts not only the name but also the email address of the person you are answering. Although the same happens in brain dead applications like outlook, I think most smart clients suppress this information by default since it allows spam harvesters to easily collect addresses from archives of mailing lists.
I have alerted the gmail team to this and they say they are working on it, but they can't fix it soon enough for me as I occasionally forget to delete this gmail generated text from my replies.
The link to the paypal announcement leads to an invite to mail them for more information, which I did, and discovered these are the limits to their largesse:
If you opened a PayPal account between October 1, 1999 and January 31,
2004, you are a member of the class unless you fit into one of the
following exclusions. Excluded from the class are: any judicial officer to
whom the lawsuit is assigned; any current or former employee, officer, or
director of PayPal; anyone who resides in Austria, Belgium, Denmark,
Germany, Greece, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Portugal,
Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands, or United Kingdom; and all persons who
timely and validly request exclusion from the class.
Linux has been the victim of fewer attacks than Windows because (1) it actually is more secure, but also (2) most attackers think hitting Windows offers a bigger bang for the buck so Windows simply gets attacked more.
I guess that's why Apache is routinely attacked and compromised while IIS is ignored as its share leaves so little bangs for bucks.
$10 million? Thats enough money to fund OSDL for three or four years! More proof, as if needed, that this case is principally about lining the pockets of the legal community.

No, I think you have to go via this page
Wow - did not know there was so much anti-java vitriol out there. Anyway thanks for the comments - the auto update is now downloading from Downloading: http://citkit.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/azure us/Azureus2.3.0.0.jar.torrent
Now restarted in 2.3.0.0 and working fine. Thanks for other informative comments too.
When I open the jar this appears in my console:

Same here. But AcidSearch 0.4 fixes include "Support for Safari 1.3 added".

I agree this is not rocket related tech: OS X has had it in finder since 10.3 and will make it better in the next release shown here: http://www.apple.com/macosx/tiger/spotlight.html
