    married with 2 kids here, i'm just hoping my older son felt it. last year's tornado went right over our apartment building while he was looking outside the window. and an earthquake is one natural disaster he has wanted to experience

    i called our director of IT who was a mile away in another building and he said i was crazy. so i hit up twitter and everyone is saying how NYC just had an earthquake. didn't even bother to check the news since twitter is as close to real time as you can get

    all the chicks that work in the building here that is full of fashion and modeling companies got scared and evacuated right away

    and who will want to buy a cell phone maker with the only future of making me too phones like HTC does

    Moto's problem is that HTC flooded the market with similar phones that have very minor differences. HTC Inspire, desire hd, droid incredible 2, my touch 4g, evo, thunderbolt. they are all either the 82655 or the 86655 qualcomm CPU's which are almost exactly the same with the same GPU's. everything else is minor differences. Moto had too few phones in the market place or made too many models with too many differences

    I have a motorola droid pro and my old iPhone 3GS I sold months ago was faster with 1/3 the ram

    Maybe if the phone manufacturers didn't set up all kinds of useless programs to run in the background they would work better with less ram

    i mean most computers are bought at retail with real licenses. how many people really pirate windows compared to microsoft's cost to implement this?

    or did the ipad and just cheap fast hardware really stretch the upgrade cycle so MS is hoping to cash in on an OS upgrade and needs to a way to protect themselves?

    virgin has android phones with totally unlimited plans. and their android phones are only $149

    oh wait, someone with an IQ that is higher than everyone here combined has figured out that if you sell a crappy and slow phone it will limit total data usage and that's why they can sell unlimited. or that the usual whiners don't want to pay $700 for a cell phone and then complain why the carriers are charging so much money.

    this is how everyone makes blu ray players or apple breaks into the cell phone market. you pool your patents into a consortium, cross license and for every device you sell you pay a fee back into the consortium that gets paid to all the members. just like the wifi consortium

    a lot of these lawsuits have nothing to do with networking but with things like memory management and camera software. if apple or HTC doesn't want to pay kodak they should just write their own algorithms

    apple makes most of the money in the PC market. HP and dell mostly sell the cheap no profit machines.

    the original plan was to sell a variety of models with the low end models being loss leaders for the more expensive ones. but Apple stole the more expensive market and left the loss leader market to dell/hp.

    i'm at about this number. doesn't mean i hang out with everyone but i've known these people at some point in my life. some people i haven't seen for years

    i'm less than 6 degrees from an old country music star and a dentist in florida who's in jail for killing his wife 20 some years ago.

    don't take the drug, find another doctor. every drug has side effects. some are very serious and need other drugs to treat them

    these things need to be told to your doctor, not a facebook page. your doctor will then report this to the company and the government along with some data about you so that scientists can try to make a theory or find some common elements between people complaining about side effects.

    sounds cool but i have like 10 free outlets at work for my phones, ipad and whatever i carry these days to charge. and you can use USB ports on any server in the data center if you're working away from the office.

    this sounds like cool and gee whiz but not practical for a lot of people who will just say who cares and get an iphone

    no it doesn't. not everyone wants to be julia roberts or another top tier star. they don't even make that much money after all the taxes and agent fees are accounted for.

    i bet Serkis loves his job because he never leaves the studio, doesn't have to travel around the world all the time and is always there for his kids while making a very nice living and not seeing most of his money go to agents, publicists, accountants and lawyers

    it all feeds into search. android is free but the google apps like navigation and the market that OEM's ship with handsets are $15 and Google shares the ad revenue with the OEM/carrier. the carrier also makes a lot of money on the accessories extras like phone insurance. having people use android also helps their data and metrics since the handset is linked to a real person unlike say a computer on a NAT connection

    because on facebook i can exclude groups of users from viewing things i post or my profile. that means people i don't really know can be put into a sandbox group that gets minimal access.

    on G+ with no one on there and being able to "follow" the social media stars it becomes a pain in the a$$ to make a lot of circles and customize every part of your profile to be viewed by 20 circles for one another 30 circles for another. Google needs to let you have a circle of circles for this. so that i can say follow scoble but he won't see anything but my phone number which should only be view able to some circles

    FB has solved this problem with pages
