by volume about half the trading is done by the large long term funds or corporations buying their own stock. the other half by hedge funds. on large volume days most volume is long term funds as they buy up or dump large amounts of stock.
a lot of the short term traders put money into the market. if you cash out part of your pension or other investments, someone has to buy that stock to give you the cash
on the website or via a smartphone app you can add international data to your account. it's like $30 for 100MB you can pro rate it, start it from the date you change, and cancel the next month if you want. point is just add it before you go and no surprises
and i explained to my family that next time you go to mexico turn off roaming or pay for an unlocked phone and use a local SIM or buy the international package. i was going to add it on, but i didn't know my inlaws were taking their phones
you're on drugs if you think your local government will upgrade their networks every time netflix doubles their data that they send. it might seem good now but 5-10 years in the future if local governments run the ISP's out of business they will laugh at you when you complain you can't stream 8K or whatever the next one is. they will act like any other local utility and tell you to wait 5 years until they gather enough data that there is a demand for it, then take another few years to study the problem, then spend another 5 years begging for money in the budget and finally upgrading the network
disney says you have to put ESPN into the basic cable tier along with the three dozen other channels on it. i watch sports, but ESPN is crap. it's either talk shows or niche sports like drag racing
there is always some new product coming out where you can make a lot of money selling it to sucker PHB's
get out of IT and get a sales job and use your skills to talk some technical nonsense to PHB's in a conference room to sell them on some software or some appliance or other
only problem is that today's money maker will be tomorrow's commodity crap so you always have to find new work with new companies as new products are released
you need money to litigate a patent suit. if you had cash in the bank to pay the bills and it vanishes the day before you file chapter 11, the court is going to start asking questions and auditing your books
technically yes and it's working now because the market is growing
wait till growth of new customers stops and the players start to figure out ways to squeeze more profits from current customers. they over subscribe servers now, but wait a few years and see how bad it gets. and when you call support they will just blow you off and tell you it's your app that's not compatible with a hyper visor or whatever
same with AWS the storage is extra the networking you pay for data per MB or GB in and out you pay for backups you pay for DR in different availability zones you have to pay more in your office internet access to get the faster access to access your data
then apple and samsung need to open up a modern day bell labs and invent new stuff like that australian university that invented most of wifi. or the german one that invented mp3
and then they won't pay any royalties just do all the R&D for the thousands of patents that cover antennas, modulation, encryption, LTE, beam forming the signal and everything else it takes for a modern phone to work
most of the internet buildout of the last few years have been to support streaming. without streaming video 10 megabit would be more than enough for everyone
the streaming cost should include all the switches and routers added in the last 5 years while the delivers for DVD's is already there to deliver other things. not like UPS/Fedex only drive around and deliver DVD's

most trading is done by pension and other big funds
not by hedge funds or small funds that do HFT

in laws used 20MB and it cost like $700
i called AT&T and they took off most of it
and i explained to my family that next time you go to mexico turn off roaming or pay for an unlocked phone and use a local SIM or buy the international package. i was going to add it on, but i didn't know my inlaws were taking their phones
horrible of them trying to make money back on what they spent to build the airport
the NSA

a car maker is missing out on the $2000 extra option you're not buying but only using your USB port
they do have a lot of college sports, but i don't follow it that much. Mets, Yankees, Nets and Rangers is all i have time for
disney says you have to put ESPN into the basic cable tier along with the three dozen other channels on it. i watch sports, but ESPN is crap. it's either talk shows or niche sports like drag racing
it's disney
the same company that makes me pay for ESPN even though i never watch it
LTE allows carriers to have more people per antenna and saves them money
this is in a country where we buy our nine year old kids smartphones because they are "free"
yes it will, since it supports LTE WORLDWIDE and has a SIM SLOT
at least for data
not 100% sure but if you buy it full price it will come with the SIM card unlocked and supports the most worldwide LTE frequencies.

why can't google and everyone else support public transportation?
lobby SF and California to build some train tracks and stops at the big corporate parks to start and build out from there to the smaller towns.
i'm all for car ownership and driving on weekends but when you have the same trip that so many people take everyday there should be a public option

all that is extra on top of that instance charge
that's not true
each new gen has new stuff and patents but it still uses inventions from prior generations of that product
yes
now go to stanford and then find a place to live under a bridge while you work 18 hour days making stuff for me
most of those were design patents
and the holder of the most design patents in the usa is, Samsung. patenting their designs for fridges and microwaves
then apple and samsung need to open up a modern day bell labs and invent new stuff
