Find a copy of SoundForge and have some fun.
I've actually been able to make both Hole and Madonna listenable by cutting their waves and combining them.
On my IE browser, second power.com inserts itself as my default homepage. where is this piece of software? I'll burn it soon after I find it. Thanks -Dave
First of all, the idea of complete suitacase, carry-on and personal searches have to be considered. Beyond that, "sky-marshalls" must be employed on every flight. Add to that an armed and/or sealed-off cockpit.
Really, "fair use" is the operative word here. Just because the share-with-a-friend pendulem has swung in favor of the public does not mean that the public is ripping off over-stuffed industry coffers. I share with my gnutella friends. I share with my e-mail friends. I share by passing a disc.
I Share! And, always will.
Yes corporations are stupid-greedy. Denial of training, fear of promotional tracks that could include transferable skills, it's all part of the dumb corporate culture in '01.
That's why, when recently laid off from a midwest company of mentioned immaturity, I thanked my lucky stars. The going is tough, but at least I'm going forward.-dp
If my personal experience is worth anything, don't even attempt using a servent like gnutella if you have bandwidth less than DSL. It's not only the "bandwidth barrier", I also suspect most user are not sharing or have their thresholds set above 56k.
Anyone have a solution to the high cost of DSL?
I must be one of the last people on this freakin' planet running a 56k modem. Absolutely no joy trying to connect to the gnutella net.
I understand the science of bandwidth limitations enough tp know I'm not getting shyte until I get DSL.
Bearshare appears to be the best servent yet.
I'll keep saving my tuppence
Stop and think. What is this world we're dreaming of. Are we ready for "nanotechnology"? Kurzweil or Joy. what can further the population of this planet?
...as what you buy.
does christmas leave a bad tasste in anyone else's senses. what can be done to extricate santa claus from the spirit of self-less giving?
ok, so it's only 1 day out of the year. i know motivation doesn't come from the marketplace. maybe with the current dotcom shake-out, humanity will realize-
Ya, i know they've been making a comeback. but the pre-programmed crap that followed were, well, slightly pansy-assed.
Nothing like a fat Moog sound. Ever!!
O.K., I see internet computing going, mainly, one of two ways. Either we're going to all grow up and learn to deal with each other in a peer-to-peer fashion (respect, anyone?), or the corporations will fill the void with an oppropriatly modern version of television.
well....
we know that fungus is inherrant to the human existence. what will we do with a fungi infested

can we guaratee that space flightees will enjoy anything more than green goo?
the ps2 just plain looks cheap compared to the sega dc. i can't give you ANY technical reason's. it was a surprise to me as well. we played the dreamcast football side-by-side with the ps2.
the sega looked richer and moved more smoothly.
however, congrats to your marketing dept. that shortage business paid off well
... does anyone seriously think that the linux os will bloom into a viable, end-user-oriented platform?
and also, does any one expect the manufacturers of closed source software to port their offerings to linux as open source?
... this little kiosk on the ground floor of public buildings. strap on a visor and goggles. and preview your trip through the buildlng. of course someone will have to try to hack it and offer guided tours through the electrical and/or plumbimg systems (maybe the IS?).
better living thru play. my kinda world
as per usual, i agree with *most* of what you believe. but, let's look at the prospect of al gore redistributing the nation's wealth.
yes, i agree, techies and others have contributed alot to the wealth of america, and they (we) are worth every penny they earn. but *gasp* your efforts ARE being explioted by predatory entities who don't give a damn about the population at large. this population DOES include you, you friends, your neighbors, and the strangers that you wish you could help.
why does al gore's meager stab at helping to balance the economic scales infuriate so many people????
don't you realize that when everyone shares the wealth (re: code), all benefit?

Protest is simply showing the people that rule, the people that are ruled. That's all. Every body knows that. You can unknot your knickers now.
