For the iPod touch, all you have to know is where to find the link for the latest ipsw file (off of Apple's own servers even) and save a few pesos. Google is your friend here.
As a occasional eBay user that posted an item last weekend, I can definitely say eBay is having problems.
1) Late last night, my listing and many others kept coming up as not being available.
2) Sometimes the description for a listing is shrunk down to half a visible line of text.
3) Sometimes the description for a listing is nothing empty space where you scroll down for three or four 'pages' only to find the eBay footer with nothing else, no place a bid button or whatever is usually at the bottom of a listing.
I've seen this on Firefox 3.5.2 and 3.5.3 after clearing all cache, cookies, whatever, then logging straight back into eBay.
IMO the eBay UI continues to suck even more. I can't believe no one has built anything to compete with them.
Though, the great deals from Hong Kong and China on various bits and bobs are definitely worth it. $5 including shipping for something that sells locally for $35 is worth the two week wait. $85 for an ARM9 development platform with LCD touch screen - gimme!
All it means is they don't have enough servers and fat pipes (tubes are for n00bs) to stream all that data.
Before they can deploy to North America or Asia, they're going to need significant data center presence in those areas. Not to mention all the legal and licensing cr*p taken care of.
Don't tell them you have an iPhone. Go to a local Rogers Wireless store or kiosk and get a SIM card with voice and data plans. The only thing you won't get working is visual voicemail.
The problem with "simple one-click upgrades" is that the web server, usually Apache, requires full read/write privileges to the directories and files that Wordpress lives in. Talk about a massive gaping security hole.
It actually costs $$$$$ to put people in jail. And in jail, you don't have to worry about a place to sleep, go to the toilet or where your next meal will come from. They only thing you have to worry about is pissing off your fellow residents and anal sex.
Since these days money, in the real and virtual worlds, is just a bunch of numbers in computers anyways, why didn't they just add a few zeros on the end of the moneies - just like in the real world?
That piece of paper may be a "financial instrument" AKA stock, bond or check that is worth something. That in turn might be used to fund drugs or heaven forbid, "terrorism". It might also be a piece of tissue that can be used, you know, to wipe your arse AKA "bio-hazard". Either way, they have to protect the [artificial man-made] nation from the evil bogeyman.
If Apple hadn't built the iPhone, I 1000% guarantee you that none of the established players would have. Just look at the track record of Nokia, Motorola, HTC and others - Apple changed the cell phone landscape forever.

Shiny butt plugs.
Do you even know what vaporware is?
Stuff you can't buy at the local Walmart or Best Buy.

Contrary to popular belief, Tim Horton's is not coffee. It is brown coloured water that tastes strange - at best.

died due to electrical shock

So you think. Are they really truly off, or just the UI telling the dumb user things are 'off'.
What a load of bullsh*t! The patent office is completely incompetent. There is prior art. AltaVista for one http://web.archive.org/web/19961022174810/http://www.altavista.com/
A reject from Digg.
Define "toy language"
It can't be used to write an Operating System. You know, like Windows or Linux or Mac OS X.
rich text email - DO NOT WANT

I bid 10,000 quatloos!
The first thing I did with my iPhone, after buying it, was to put it into a Belkin hard shell case. Best $20 I've spent.
There was no XML in the 80's
XML is a frakin' text file! Text files have been around since before the 80's.
As is PHP Object Oriented Programming.
Yeah, I know, Offtopic... :-p

How exactly is my paper going to be dangerous?

"I'm not racist! I hate you all equally."
...no different from having to own a PC with enough grunt to run the bloatware required for Android development...
Without the hardware, there is no software.

No mention of memory size, disk size or type, or any other useful specs. Kick the marketing droids in gonads.
