However, Linux is in many ways a throwback to more primitive systems. Not only is it repeating the mistakes of its predecessors, it apparently is introducing a brand new set of problems, having to do with intellectual property.
This line of propaganda was expected. This is the entire goal, to break the collective
thoughts of disparate programmers around the world. They want to *blame* Linux, to belittle
Linux, so that the megacorps can control.
There won't be a study on EULA. This is just FUD.
If for some reason there is a study on EULA, it
will not be in Germany! The BS message will be
that an EULA from a company is better than [L]GPL,
and therefore you are safer buying software from
a warm, caring organization such as Microsoft
than to risk the elements in FOSS land.
I seem to recall that most 'normal' (ground-based) lightning only occurs over land or near land.
That should be a clue as to what is happening
in the upper atmosphere.
It's a bit more that just a last-ditch attempt at
saving a dying company.
Ouch! Ok, ok, so I lied.

1) It's IBM who's getting sued. They probably employ more lawyers than the DOJ, and it would be catastrophic for economy if the company were seriously damaged.
My reading on this is as follows.
An entry on a linked list is to be freed.
Upon it being removed from the list, it's
pointers (prev/next) are 'poisoned' by
being set to hopefully really, really invalid
addresses. This is to catch any bad code
that continues to use the now invalidated pointers.
The bad addresses should cause an opps instead
of allowing the code to possibly trash other
valid data structures.
My point is the same.
This is telling:

You can guess the nature of future propaganda.
More FUD, step around, nothing to see here.
Have you got anything without Linux?
The American Legion.
The puppet won't be in office then.

Well of course, it's *always* the last place you look.
The first three are TRUE. I'm still debating the fourth point.
Maybe not, but the US is the undisputed leader . See Bill for an explanation.
Or 'machine'.

Approximately 28% of what? Where did you come up with these numbers? Are you referring to SLOCs or RPMs or what? Please clarify.
I'm far, far away from Redmond, but I can still smell the stench.
Ouch! Ok, ok, so I lied.
The same can be said about Microsoft.
Not always. A more likely explanation is the 'many eyes' that can review the code.
I'd upgrade to the drums. It's really worth the extra expense!
1970 is the epoch. A 32 bit time_t value which counts seconds from the epoch, will overflow in 2038.
Are you releasing that code under GPL?

Clarifications welcome.
He's gonna really need a good spam filter now.
I thought he was flipping off SCO.
At least plan on quiting because it's obvious you have bad management, and your future there may be bleak anyway.
S0C1 makes more sense.
Maybe it won't take years.
