    Which of course this technology leads to the same problem. Someone could intentionally create embryos then use this method. Personally I think the idea is slightly silly as there are many unintentional embryos created and really enough to go around.

    Yes like the harm that is caused when HALF of the cells are removed to create a twin? Early development is just a process of creating as many cells as possible to use as building blocks. In this stage no cells have any destined use in the final body.

    Well thats EXACTLY what the most recent veto was about. During fertilization treatments often extra embryos are created. Sometimes these are donated, often they are destroyed. There was a bill passed (with many republican supporters) that stated that these embroyes marked for destruction could be used in stemcell research. GW vetoed it.

    Well the Wii certainly proved itself to me. When they released "The Wizard" to DVD.

    Otherwise. meh. You know Nintendo certainly does have a good marketting team (well minus the late 90's early 2000's, but you know..)

    Sadly that was my first thought as well. Scary two Serenity references today (one on fark abot Serenity being a "conservative" movie, and this).

    In reality if people were really created who couldn't periodically be sad, they would be so mentially fried they might just turn to manic violence, especially if the violence just makes them happier. I mean serious how do you "punish" someone who can't feel bad about things.

    My poor poor arm. I don't actually Want to be Link. Holding a sword or even a very lightweight version of one and using it effectivly take lots of practice of strength most gamers don't have. Hey maybe this will be the next DDR, will we see Twilight Princess in Gym?

    He has always shown to be a creative and innovative thinker, dispite who owns him. Either way I think his point that some games really arn't appropriate for motion sensing. You can't hamsting them all into such a control setting. Lucikly the classic control seems to be good enough that it can take over in these cases.

    People generally feel comfortable with the notion that their search queries are private. Sure they may not be private, but they feel private. Sure your phone conversations arn't completly private, but the phone comapny can't just dump your conversations onto the public.

    well see, they aggregated all the people who searched for X and Y and Z and added them together and assigned that a number. So what if the aggregate generally turned out to be 1 case.

    Yes I've seen MANY people aggregate too many variables or extremly unique variables then act surprised that it didn't really aggregate.

    Umm you never pay someone $10/hour who has to power to singlehandedly cost you billions.

    Even with the safeguard you mentioned the person could take their time hitting the button, and they wouldn't know enough to notice when something fishy was going on.

    Of course the next big trend would be hacking of these systems. Sure not nessesarily classic hacking per say, but if may traders used the same system there might be a way exploit the algorythm to encourage buying or selling of a specific stock via specifically worded press releases and timed buys and sells. Trust me, it will happen.

    Stargate has jumped the shark a number of time. Whats your personal favoriate. Personally the Artic Battle was it for me. Don't get me wrong, it was cool, but it definatly spelled the beginning of the end.

    Yea, but the article does state that these devices seem to be exclusivly for off time. Sure there is always the threat of attack, but you can't be expected to be completly alert 24-7 anyways.

    Its not made of gold, but if it was it would destroy the gold markets value. Anything that is actually up there would have to be worth more in actual intrincic value (energy, water, building materials) than the cost of setting up an operation. Someday we will definatly be mining the moon and other astroids for materials to build with, but I seriously doupt so called precious metals or gems will have much value in such a future.

    I doupt its so much the officialness of the program as the officialness of the investigators. Absolute obviously already has enough connections that they got information from verizon and only had to give the police the address.

    The average hour long TV show can now be downloaded for 1.99. This is fairly reasonable, and I only wish 30 minute shows were .99.

    But these guys are making the same mistake as movielink. They are charging retail and in many instances for older movies more than retail. Sure you'll make money because some people have plenty of money and would rather not run out to the video store. The rest of us will only use these services when they are cheaper than the video store or they have movies that you can't find anywhere else.

    Mentioning patents this really all doesn't make very much sense. ESR is advocating the newest GPL which has some serious impedments when it comes to patents, but THEN recommends using closed source for these devices. Doesn't he realize the contradition.

    No not really. Initially they were trying to create some arbritrary size to define as a planet. Then they realized there was no simple logical cutoff. The new rule is that if has to have enough gravity to have developed a roundish shape. Pretty straight forward.

    Currently the barycentre is close to the center of the earth, so it is infact considered to be orbiting the earth as long as the center is inside the mass. If we used that definition no body would ever be considered to be orbiting another.
