Yea these kits sucked as they didn't expect you to use any problem solving skills. Lucikly I was curious enough to take the existing plans and attempt to slowly modify them to figure out what each and every part did. I still never quite figured out the chip that was provided, though I had no understanding of gate logic at my time, thats probably something that would have helped! :)

He didn't say they were buying laptops. He said "you can use financial aid to pay for it". This means that when computing your financial aid total needs a laptop is calculated into this, all calculations are then done as normal. Generally not much extra is awarded for this need, BUT if your school requires it you can always get a student loan for the total cost of the laptop (software needed for your major included) in addition to normal student loan needs. I unfortunatly was going to school as a University employee and while my tuition was paid for I was strickly forbidden from applying for any additional financial aid, loans or whatever. But for most people this covers them.

Well from what I've been reading china is slowly coming around to the success of capitalism (aka they know they need to leave Hong Kong alone, and apparently they have a test capitalism city forgot what its called.) Strangly they believe they can loosen the reins on the economy while keeping tight social controls. One can only wonder if the capitalistic regions will rebel first because of their knowledge of what is truly happening, or will the poor regions rebel first simply out of desperation.

Read it again. The adverb is substantially. So the question is "How much are they increasing efficiency?" The answer is "Substatially." The then elaborate that total effiency is over 100%. Technically I'd agree with you though, if the word Barrier wasn't there, it implies and increase over a specific known barrier, thus is the 100% efficiency barrier.

Let say I was to say

"This will increase your runnning speed substatially, over 4 minutes in a mile"

You could assume to you would be cutting 4 minutes from your mile.

    If I were to say

"This will increase your runnning speed substatially, over the 4 minute mile barrier"

The assumption would be vastly different.

Anyone willing to pay $1000 to have it first on ebay would pay that as well at retail. Hopefully sony will get the price down real fast so the average joe can afford it within a few months.

Of course will the recent dicovery that many "HDCP" video cards do not actually support HDCP this may have to be revised. HDCP does allow for playback of low quality analog as well though, so it won't be the complete black screen mentioned, though that depends upon the video producers and if they wish to allow low quality unDRM content..
