Sorry, but I don't think you know too much about RF. All things equal (same effective power output, same obstacles), low frequencies travel further.
This is part of the reason why low frequency radio has such a reach (well, that and it can be bounced off the ionosphere whereas higher frequencies often break-through).
You could augment with a PIN or password, too. They're actually quite easy to implement...infact, you could do the authentication in Java within the web app.
When I recently moved out of a loft, I left a lot of stuff in a high traffic area of the building and my neighbours "recycled" various PCs, printers, fax machines:-)

Where I live, Toronto, it's actually against a city bylaw to throw anything with a PCB in the garbage. Pretty sure lots of people do, however. But's its good to see Office Depot and HP offering consumers something better to do.
"CNN has an article about a London restaurant that is offering diners the chance to see if they are descended from the great Khan (Genghis that is). If you are, then you get a free meal."
A free meal from a British restaurant would probably be enought to turn me into a rampaging Ghengis Khan!

...at a relatively large telco, we had Cisco pretty much rewrite one of their software products for us. We didn't scream or shout, just pointed out that the product was flawed in some areas and that we really would like to use a complete Cisco solutions. They were even flying guys up from CA on a weekly basis at one point.
Yes, it did reinforce millions of dollars worth of equipment sales. But they also probably wouldn't have lost the sales if they refused.
Seeing as he tried to pull a "fast one" in a business dealing with me several years ago, I'm kind of inclined to side with the plaintiff right now (you reallu should read the plaintiff's filings).
There is this little thing called karma...and I don't just mean the Slashdot kind;-)
Use "DUMMYNET".
BTW....wouldn't have taken more than 2 minutes to Google that!

Surely you'd need 64 (8*8) to replicate a chess board?!

He also did a very good job of keeping it quiet -- I wonder if Apple's PR folk were enlisted for that?

When ordering DS1s from a telco, you generally have to specify diverse routing to get them nailed to a different CO!

You're not familiar with the settlement between Apple Records and Apple Computer?
Apple [Computer] actually got into legal wranglings over this again with the ITMS.
