... in dealing with union representatives. They hired all the best shop stewards into management, ensuring that only fools and lazy a$$holes represented the rank and file.
Spot-on. And with no more exit polls, they'll be free to steal more elections without having to explain why the official vote tally doesn't jibe with the way people SAID they voted.
I'd love to convince The Powers That Be to dump MS Office, but as an educational institution we pay next to nothing for it. When I tell people that I use a FREE office suite that is MSOffice-compatible, they invariably say "Is that so!" then change the subject.
No. What's boring is spending an entire afternoon watching armor-clad millionaires smash into each other repeatedly.
If you actually *watched* cartoons, you'd know that most of them feature very sophisticated writing. Certainly more sophisticated than most programming that features 'live' (for lack of a better term) actors.
A while back, I emailed and faxed my congresscritter to express my opposition to a proposed Constitutional amendment that would ban flag burning. Several weeks later I got a snail-mail reply to the effect of "Thanks for writing. I agree that we should outlaw flag burning." !#$!#$%^
NPR has a reputation as being a very liberal news source, and it is - for 'soft' social issues. For political coverage, NPR SUCKS. They can be counted on to bury any story that is critical of Bush and/or the GOP. I get my news from 'the Beeb'.
It's really easy for me here in central Ohio - my elected officials have yet to do ANYthing I agree with. And when I emailed my Congressman to express my *OPPOSITION* to the 'Anti-Flag-Burning Amendment', he mailed me back saying "Thanks for your views, I also think flag-burning should be outlawed." I don't know if he misunderstood my letter or just didn't read it at all. Either way, it sucks.
I bought a 6GB Deskstar 'way back in 1997 or so. It lasted 11 1/2 months and failed. It was replaced under warranty with a refurbished unit - which also failed in about 11 months. At that point I gave up and bought a Western Digital.
It's all about the feds being able to monitor EVERY transaction. If there's no such thing as cash, it will be much harder to (1) traffic in illicit substances or (2) avoid paying taxes.
I use NiMH batteries in my Visor Platinum. The documentation recommends against using rechargables, but I've had no problems, and I get 4-5 weeks per charge. Given that NiMH batteries only cost 2-3 times more than alkaline AAAs, I'm saving money *and* being eco-friendly.

Opposed to the death penalty, are you?
Thought not.
Bye-bye, consistency!

Of the ten largest IT shops in my area, Novell NetWare is in at least six.
"More 'geek-friendly' than Star Trek? Really ?!
Time to trot out my time-worn tagline:
"Star Trek is okay, but I prefer science fiction."
Thanks for the tagline!

If I like the product, I'll call THEM. If I don't, no amount of pleading will change my mind.
... faint praise.

I think Fox put Futurama in that slot specifically to kill it. They wanted another Simpsons, and Matt wouldn't kneel for them (IMO).
Futurama's way too adult to be on so early - I don't even let my 10-year-old watch it.
!!! Maybe Cartoon Network will pick it up and add it to the "Adult Swim" lineup. I feel a petition coming on...
Novell also sponsors an LDAP-specific resource page:. It has downloadable tools, SDKs, FAQs, forums etc.
'course I haven't actually READ the subscriber agreement... Ignorance is bliss.

Deniece Williams.
Didn't see 'Red Zone Cuba' -- a film with no redeeming qualities whatsoever. At least 'Manos' was unintentionally funny at times.
