As I read your comment, I am reminded of the professor on Gilligan's Island. He seemed to be the most well rounded and grounded, from what I can recall.

As for Simpsons, all guys were portrayed bad, except Bart and gay men. It's really sad. The creators of the show obviously hate guys. This is underscored in the episode which showed that the Simpson males had a gene that made them stupid, but the females had a gene that made them intelligent and successful.

So far, nobody in this thread has noticed that. I haven't read everybody's comment, though.

I could forgive Google for showing me a page that was related but didn't have the exact word, but some of the results are just ridiculous.

    Thanks for your explanation.

That SRC attribute should have available for all elements. That being said, it would be nice to go back to a basic document. A standards body could test out the standards, and get a wide variety of input. As it is, P is used for phrases and paragraphs, but people still call all of them paragraphs. This really frustrates me, because I love HTML.

I think that we all look down on America for more reasons than that, but it's probably part of it. On a very unrelated note, what would happen to you if America never recovers? Would you go to Canada? This is a question that I wrestled with in the last little while. There's the whole issue of money, but even with the money looked after, I'm not too sure that I want you all coming to my country, and then disrupting the way we do things. I could just imagine 40 million Americans coming into Canada, then accepting our hospitality, and then saying, "No, we'll do it our way. We're the majority now.". I could imagine Canadians blindly handing stuff out to you, or perhaps blindly opposing you. I ask you, in particular, I have read some of your posts, and you seem to have a head on your shoulders.

Those 2 videos were excellent comparisons. Personally, I feel that when you play things too fast or too slow, it can really alter the overall experience of the piece. As for those 2 videos, they were each great in their own right, as far as I am concerned, for my purposes, however, I think that Peter Roper-Curzon should have slowed it down to let his audience experience what Rachmaninoff offered.

I can't believe that I agree with you so much.

Our orchestra preformed The Polar Express for our Christmas concert. I was getting into it so much, that I decided to borrow the movie from the library. I was grateful for being able to see it, but I was really disappointed at how shallow the story was.

1 telling moment was when that little kid was so sad that Santa never came to his home. You see his spoiled bratty expression, when they sing that song, "When Christmas Comes to Town". I understand how the Santa concept works [i.e. every good kid deserves a visit from Santa, and then add to that political correctness, so that every kid deserves a visit Santa], but I couldn't help but feel that this kid was being unrealistic. I just kept saying in my mind, to the kid, "Santa is busy. Quit being so demanding.".

Every single moment was about kids wanting something, and about the magic of Christmas. There were no redeeming values in any of the characters. Even Santa was a little bit weird. There was no real conflict in the movie.
