I chipped a couple when rev 1 of the Chrome Orb came out. Fool me once ... Things are a little better these days because the quality heat sinks - with paranoid mode on - are less likely to crush a CPU than when folks were trying to strap a socket 370 heat sink on an Athlon, but I still feel like it is a crap shoot every time I have to remove the CPU. I end up trying to stay about the $100 mark for CPU's as a result. (Yes, the MP's cost me much more, and I was very nervous when I mounted them)

My dish has several channels that have an 'info' button. I keep disabling it, but since I won't run a phone line unless I can't see the video I loose the settings every few months. Want another bonehead thing that you probably know, that I struggled with? Loading a saved game. Tons of options for Saving a game, nothing about Loading a game. No way that I could find from loading via the KDE shortcut loaded server console. For the rest of us mere mortals, you have to specify the file and a flag when you start up the server in an xterm.

Perhaps there is great info on-line, but I did not have a net connection. It was a piece of cake once I figured it out... One should not have to jump into source code just to play a bloody game, however. The help settings could use some more help.

Not to dis, but these are the type of issues software developers need to think about when they are programming for the masses. How many folks fired up freeciv, played a game where they were the only person, and just gave up?

Most never even turned them on. As a younger crowed moves in, it is not quite as bad as the boomers practicing.

The real training most folks get for the MD is not hard-core sciences. Sure, there is some... but most of the training in the people skills. As for the life span of this stuff, we may not have the technology today (we do, but folks don't want that type of reactor), but it will get there. This "waste" may be an important fuel source in ~50-200 years when oil extracton gets too pricey.

I find if it works in Mozilla, it will probably work in most everything. IE tends to be too forgiving, rendering bad or malformed HTML too well. For that reason alone, I prefer to test with Mozilla first -- then a cut or two of IE...
