Somewhere, you have a list of what the various debug levels are. It's useful to do something like 0 = off 1 = entering major functions 2 = less major functions 3 = specific breakpoints 4 = loop variables
The debug print checks a constant global variable, or if more work is required, gets set by a command line. Means you dont need to remove the statements for the final compile.
I think Larry & Sergey are quite naive, but that leaves them open to new ideas. I'll feel a bit sorry for them when Eric screws them out of the company.
Looks like they've been thinking - the costs for purchasing/renting content seem fairly reasonable. However, no mention is made of own content. If I can't convert my own stuff to their format with no restrictions, they wont be getting my dollars.
Frisbee: Most houses dont let you get that distance
Firetwirling: You really need good ventilation and high ceilings to do this indoors, and the smoke can cause sooting on the walls and ceiling, meaning you lose your bond.
Get over yourself. Games are expensive - avg $90 AUD each. People see a modchip (cost of two, maybe three games for a good one) as a price effective thing - pirated games cost $10 AUD if bought from a capital P Pirate.
No matter what you may think of your hobby of Xbox/ps2 hacking, you are a minority. Games consoles are primarily sold TO PLAY GAMES.
I read them when I was far to young, and a lot of it went over my head. I reread it a few years later, and I understood more. Again, I reread it a few years later again, and again I found more.
The first one is a story about facing your fears The first one is about challenging who you are (and about the wondrous things that can be found in strange places) The third is about accepting what you have become I haven't read the fourth enough to pick a theme yet.
For such slim volumes, they pack a powerful punch. You dont need to write several thousand pages to really affect someone.
Australia stopped being fair years ago. Now, thanks to John Howard, we are America's bitch. Huzzah!
We don't protect our citizens held in Guantanomo because "We don't have the laws to prosecute them, and the Americans do" in the words of our foreign minister, Alexander Downer. To me, if there is no law against it, he was not doing something illegal. It may have been morally questionable, but not illegal, to attend a merc training camp in a foreign country. Not fighting for the 'other side', just being there.

After high school, many people find that they no longer associate with the people they went to school with. Why? Because the only thing you really had in common with them was the fact that you went to the same school. You will have people from school that you remain in contact with your entire life, but the majority of that circle of friends dries up and blows away.
I personally find not enough emphasis is placed on emotional growth in society. People are urged to excel in sports, in science, in their field of work and study, but being happy is not a focus.
Here (in australia) we have sick leave, and need to supply a doctors certificate if we use that time. However, I know no-one who would get a certificate for 'mild depression' and would have it approved. Everyone I know has had a sickie, a doona-day, a bludge, but they always convince some doctor they were up with the trots, or have the flu.
Mental health, the sort that is enhanced by true friends and loving, supporting relationships does not get enough play. Find your guy a circle of true friends. Lead him by example, show him how happy you are.
a culture is based on an economic concept. Everyone has the right to run a business, the right to attempt to make money. In the words of many hollyword scriptwriters, 'Capitalist pigdogs!'.
Then things like reparations, and commitment to human rights start to happen. You have to treat the captured enemy as 'prisoners of war'. Is the US a signatory to the Geneva convention? I don't know. I know the US refused to sign on to the world criminal court. Mainly because of worry about Americans being 'unfairly' prosecuted for war crimes. They figured significant misrepresentation.
They way things run now, you can lock people in individual dog kennels with no walls, just wire fences. You can transport them in sensory deprivation for more than 18 hours. You can make them kneel in the sun for hours without water.
All because it wasn't 'war'. There's a certain benefit to being able to do that.
Anime about trash collectors in space. Set in the future (of course). In one episode they have to bring in a coffin - it used to be fashionable to be buried in space, but now it's illegal and a hazard.
but you'd be wrong. I often read huge swathes of text just before bed. I let it sink in. Then I try to implement, using teh book as a reference, but the initial thought process happened away from the screen.
A good ebook device, not a pda that is trying to do it, is amazing. Scroll bad for ebook - page flipping good. You want a larger screen than normally fits on a PDA. You want better contrast. You want to specify a few fonts. PDA's are to 'bright' - bad for lots of reading. You want a controllable backlight.
I love my reb1100, but ebook makers need to be shot. An ebook should cost significantly less. They don't. I just convert fanfic pages to.rb and read those, rather than buying from an incredibly limited back catalogue of things that don't interest me.

Good luck to em.

The best thing about my reb is the rocketwriter.
I think he made the machine cut two much down, when the knob that determined how much was hidden. Maybe its funny.

Sheesh.
I wasn't aware it was 'Tell it like it is friday', but I'm all for extending the day.
Avg Price of a cd in australia is $30. Price of a top 20 cd in kmart is (i think) $22. Of course, anything I like is never in the charts anyway, so...
Does it support self published content? Does it support english? I have a REB1100, and I love it, but want more screen realestate.
Plum Island, and its sequel The Lions Game were great reads. Is there a sequel to Lions Game yet?
That should read:

It makes me cry, and then I have to turn it off. Never been able to make it all the way thru.

$80 AUD/month for 512/128, 12gig peak quota, 8 gig off-peak, quota calculated on rolling 30 day window.
It's considered a pretty good deal compared to what else is on offer to us skips.
He knew how to turn a phrase didn't he.
look it up
