They'll notice if you transfer more than $15,000 (or gold coins, astro credits, zenny coins etc...) from one user to another and audit it, just like the federal gov't. "Are you sure you didn't arrange this transfer via ebay?!!"
Thanks to your review I can guarantee I will never play Everquest, the mention of timesinks alone is enough to turn one off.
This doesn't mean that all online games are like this though, or that they have to be. I've been playing Unreal Tournament 2003 for the past few weeks, and it has been a blast. No monthly fees, no hoops to jump through, just plain fun.
Maybe it's not the Everquest game that is so bad, as the sales model.
Miles Davis has several albums where a track was recorded live rather than in studio, and I challenge you to hear the difference. Though I will admit that they are recorded in small clubs, rather than a field with 50,000 fans. Still, if it was recorded from the sound board, then it is a direct patch to their instruments, so the sound should and is excellent.
I guess our company isn't too far off the mark...

We were asked to come up with a fast cheap solution for getting two servers to keep in touch, and not have to change the company's firewall setup. Our solution was to use SOAP and JAXM, but our backup plan was to do everything via FTP...who knew we were in the same league as NASA?
In Canada the phone 'booth' has all but died. All of these phones are open air against a wall, some of the more modern pay pohones sit on a table in the lounge and only take cards, not change.
I spent 3 years doing tech support with IBM for almost two dozen different companies, including no less than 4 banks. You would not believe how much the banks will compete to keep you as thier customer, and if it means making their browser Netscape/Mozilla compliant, most of them will do it. After all, for the pidly sum of $38,000, they can expect to keep at least 5,000 customers happy (and you know i'm guessing on the very very low end of the scale). 11.5% of the browser population is still a large part of a business' clientel. Another way to look at it, a user is just as likely to be gay as to use a non-MS browser. I'm just sayin'....
I've had the same impression with Mozilla 1.1, didn't take me long to go back to 1.0. Then I got bitten with 1.2, fortunately they came out with 1.21 fast enough. By then I'd switched to Phoenix, and now as the Quebecois say, everything is t'zigidoo.
friend of mine just started a new political party, The Patriot Party of Canada, and the biggest thing going for it is that it does not accept donations from corporations or special interest groups
I don't see anything mentioned on the donation page rejecting donations from corporations or special interest groups. Nor is it mentioned anywhere in their policy page. Shouldn't something like this be displayed somwhere? Am I missing something?
It's not like they're bundling Office with every copy of Windows or anything.
Uh what about WordPad and Outlook Express? Might not be the Office Suite, but it kinda ties you to their formats, don't it?
Throw in the fact that through their OS monopoly they have managed to convince almost all major PC vendors to include some sort of Office bundle, even if it's MS Works (which includes a full version of Word btw) then it starts to feel like they really do bundle it with every machine.
Only now are vendors starting to offer other office suites.
Well, the Blade from IBM takes 7 rack units, not trying to nitpic or anything, but in theory you could up 3 of those 5 1/4 PCs on a rack unit, giving you 21 total, while the Blade can only hold 14 in that space. Of course, the Blade ones can be Xeons, but you get the point.
Actually, there's usually six ways of spelling a verb in any given tense, but there are approx ten tenses, meaning 60 ways to spell each verb. As an anglophone who went to a French private school, I learned this the hard way.
You don't go to McGill to learn french. And most Anglophones in Montreal probably have just as bad spelling. And if he dictated this and somebody else typed it, then it's not even his fault.
You and the people who posted below obviously never read the article...it's about a weapon, not an emotion. And after all, one doesn't need to be emotional in killing, simply motivated.
YOU and your kind are the reason that I and other law-abiding citizens have to pay $20 for a CD... to make up for the costs of all the shit that you steal!
Are you kidding? the 800% markup that goes on for DVDs and CDs is the reason you pay $20. Look at how much money the studios make, I will not shed a tear for them. And for that matter, I will not shed a tear for you, keep throwing your money at them, I'm sure they appreciate it. Who's the real fool here?
you stinking homless hippy who thinks everything in life is free
Haha, that's too funny, your second assumption is as baseless as your first.
movies aren't the same as the shitty linux you no doubt use
No kidding, Linux is useful, it's not the piss in a cup that they keep getting you to swallow...tastes good eh?
In the real world, people WORK for MONEY to BUY things
No, in the real world, people work to make enough money to live, while spoon fed Americans (not all of them, just the mindless ones who swallowed too much tv as a child) work for money to buy things. What do you live for man? The urge to own another product?
A very forgein concept to you, you fucking toothless whore.
If I'm toothless why are you an Anonymous Coward? After all, I won't bite!
And how many 14 year olds have a cheque book? I'm saying make it available in the store just like any other game, and don't tie it to a credit card. Now is that so damn hard? Think outside of the lego box kid-o.

Are you trying to make a point, or push an agenda? Get off the soap box and start living your life.

Who wants to spend $20 on a DVD when I could burn 40 DivX movies for the same price.
