Indianapolis resident here. Most of us who live here are not as dense as Governor Pence.
Please get the word out and help us to help him realize how much of a financial loss our state could suffer should Indiana become a place where discrimination is the legalized.
Do you have any evidence that they are trying to replace your device with a new one that has a camera? Just because the manufacturer filed for some patent doesn't mean your state is using that technology, or that anyone would want to buy it for that matter. And then there's the tinfoil hat slippery slope conclusion that covering a camera might be illegal someday? Has anyone in your legislature proposed such an idea?
I got hit by the shutdown too, however I'm not upset. If I was paying for it I would have been angry at the vendor for not notifying me. But it's a FREE antivirus service. The folks that publish ClamAV updates aren't under any obligation to keep my systems up and running. If my systems were that important, I'd pay for something with an SLA.
Yeah, noone really got hurt here.. just some delayed mail. I logged into my effected server and had clamav upgraded in 10 mins. It wasn't ideal but now I know I should have subscribed to the mailing list!
I have one of these docks and really enjoy it. I wanted to be able to share the same monitor and keyboard with a PC and could not find a good solution that would let me share the same bluetooth keyboard/mouse with two computers. So I went with a USB keyboard/mouse and a DVI/USB KVM.
'Synonymous' describes two words that are synonyms. Since the subject described (a technique) isn't a word to begin with, I doubt it was ever synonymous at all. Though it may have been 'commonly associated' with the Storm worm.
Moglen also spoke recently at the Sakai conference in Atlanta. He is representing the Sakai Foundation in their fight against Blackboard's software patent.
He gave a keynote Wednesday morning and then appeared during lunch for a debate of sorts with Matthew Small, VP and General Counsel for Blackboard, Inc. It's quite entertaining, IMHO, especially if you have strong feelings about software patents.

The PHP devs seem to be aware of these issues and are moving in the right direction, IMHO. PHP5 and PHP6 fix a bunch of this stuff. Magic quotes and register globals are going away completely in PHP6.
Kids don't have to go to school to socialize with kids their own age. They interact with neighborhood friends, or join a club (Boy/Girl Scouts, 4-H), etc.
It's a common concern that home schooled children lack social skills, but I've found it to be quite the opposite. The home schooled kids I know are better socially than most of the public school children I've met. Guess what? Home schoolers don't stay at home all day. They often take trips to educational and recreactional places. They meet up with other families and have fun.
I think home school kids actually socialize *better* than public school kids. They tend to hang out with other children who have a positive impact on their social development, rather than children who might get them into trouble.
Speaking as an adult who was home schooled through the 8th grade (then I went to a public high school), I'm very glad I was given the opportunity to grow up in this environment. Sure there are some extremists out there who give home schooling a bad name, but you'll have that in any situation.
Having said that, the key to making this work is loving parents who take an active role in their child's development. I'm not sure if teaching kids via computer will have the desired effect if the parents are not involved to help externally socialize the children.
So you're getting ready for your long, grueling flight across the country by purchasing an iPod from the vending machine, then on the plane what do you do? Oh, nothing, because it doesn't have any damn music on it. Lets say by chance you actually have a laptop full of music and iTunes to sync with your new purchased iPod, well then why did hell did you buy it to begin with. Damnit!
His original blog entry specifies that he ordered the book from a 3rd party reseller, probably via Amazon Marketplace. Sure Amazon should take some responsibility for the resellers they partner with, but it certainly wasn't their direct fault that this book showed up late. If he really cared about getting back at the party who caused his delay he would try to attack the reseller, not try to go after Amazon.
I think he's just after the publicity however he can manage to get it.
I agree with you that if there is a flaw it should be corrected. But your previous message was screaming for recall of all Xbox 360s because they could overheat and burn down your house. The article complains about the chipset getting too hot and locking up, but doesn't have even a passing mention of a fire risk. I don't understand why people are worrying about a fire risk when there is no evidence to that matter.
Whatever, calm down. I've been playing mine for sometimes 6+ hours a day since Nov 22nd with the power supply sitting on the carpet. No lockups ever, online or offline. The brick on the floor barely gets warm, hardly enough to notice much less start a fire. Those folks who are having problems probably have defective consoles that should be replaced, but by no means does this mean that they all are broken. Most of the 360s sole are working just fine.

I was with you until you played the Nazi card. It's way too easy to compare things to scary Nazis without really knowing what you're talking about. :)

I've seen Cocoa scripted with PyObjC and python Cocoa bindings.
Apple currently employs one of the maintainers of PyObjC.
Would someone informed care to explain if/when F-Script would be a better choice?

The Gizmodo article brings up a great point:

It worked just fine for me in Firefox.

No, I think they are annoyed as I am at the customers that come in every day looking at what is on the clearance rack or any other good deal.

If any one has a gmail invite they need to get rid of, I'd be happy to take it off your hands.
Sure I've got an invite, but don't expect me to give you a good deal.

I agree.. 'ogg dirac' sounds pretty cool too.

Ooh I finally got through. Here's a mirror of the BlueQuartz installer for RedHat 9.
Looks like the Japanese site is slammed. Would anyone care to post a mirror for the BlueQuartz kit?

Oh heck, with all the self-appointed geniuses here, why waste your time clicking links from a search engine?
I do all my homework on slashdot... well, except for sex ed. I do that on Everything 2.
