I'll never understand what it is people have against socialists - except for that whole Soviet Union, which wasn't a socialist or communist state in the first place. Trust me, neoliberalism is the real threat.
I can only hope that this is (+2, Informative) because, assuming any slashdotter would ever meet you, we now know how to get your password - NOT because of the method...
Actually, the basis for 9/11 was set down in Operation Northwoods, and furthered in the 1970s at US military bases in Germany as military personnell were instructed to investigate ways that 100+ story buildings (changed to specify the twin towers in 1977) could be taken down with airliners. One of the proposed plans specifically included "Middle Eastern"-looking men with boxcutters.
When you choose to perform an Archive and Install of Mac OS X (this is valid for Panther at least, but I assume Tiger will be similar if not the same), the current/System directory is placed in a directory called "/Previous Systems" and you end up with what is essentially a fresh install. You also have the option of preserving network and user settings, which will keep your network locations and your user profiles as you have them set up now.
iTunes for Windows was a pretty big undertaking, but made easier by the fact that QuickTime had already been ported and along with it a good bit of Carbon API code. Having this resource already ported with QuickTime made porting iTunes a little less trickier. Porting iTunes to Linux wouldn't have this benefit.
>It was widely known that the police were taking cameras from people not even involved in the protest.
You know, that's interesting. I was arrested on A29 around Times Square with a video camera that was running as an officer ran up to and grabbed me. After we got to pier 57, they looked at the camera, sealed it in a plastic bag with my other stuff, and I got it back the next day after leaving court. The video was still on it - video I'll be using to fight the BS charges brought against me.
if you have never worked with Microsoft® Windows XP, it is time you were introduced to the world's most widely used, exciting, and complete operating system ever assembled

Isn't it possible for a country to NOT be an ally on the US and ALSO NOT be a terrorist country? Is that now the definition of a terrorist... "not an ally of the us?"
Nope. Bush said it himself: "You are either with us or against us in the fight against terror."
>I guess the bottle availablity has more to do with your local distributor than Pepsi.
Exactly. The marketing agency I work for currently has Pepsi as a client. One of the biggest hassles in getting promotions going is dealing with the bottlers and distributors. If the bottlers still have items in stock waiting to be sent out, then it's even tougher to get the new bottles out.
I just asked my manager about this. He said "That guy is full of shit. The Peter Principle is shit. And... (sniffle) well... (tearing up) Oh my God I hate my job and my life. I wish I were back to being a Technician instead of a manager!"
"Take a look at the code sometime, it is definately original." Are you sure that the SCO isn't going to claim ownership and force everyone with an infected system to pay up?
Reminds me of an old comment somewhere back when Apple introduced the XServe RAID. Something like, "Why didn't they call it iRaq?" with a response of "Yeah! They could have added an 802.11g interface and called it an AirRAID".

Nope. There was a single 1.8 that was (IIRC) available, then unavailable, then available again.

You'll still have to by an application server for anything other than IE or WMP, it seems.
Personally, I hope that NASA's plans for the future include getting that rover out. Then they can focus on world domination.

Think about what happened to Nixon after he won reelection.
Then again, that would put Cheney in the Oval Office. That's scarier than Bush.
I'd certainly hope so, if it was ported to that platform. Just imagine emulating a compiler for a platform that doesn't even exist...

No, no no. Microsoft [software] is all closed software.
Not all closed software is [made by] Microsoft. Is that what you meant?
>INANES (I'm not a native English speaker), though.
Which is why you're more likely to correctly understand it. I've found that non-native speakers tend to speak better English than native speakers.

It would mean we're that much closer to this.
When only a picture will do, here's one of an affected battery. Here's another of the desk.
Having "only" four known incidents doesn't matter when you're one of the four.
I wonder if Apple Legal will have a DMCA fit about this. And how good their case would be.
I just finished installing 2004.1 on my Ultra60 Creator 3D two days ago. I'm in the middle of an emerge gnome and now I see this.
Hopefully the problems I had with silo are fixed on the CD...

"She"?
Can you introduce me to some of your friends?

Hm.
Off to console him.

Right, same reason I'm not worried about PATRIOT II (aka Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2004).
