Up until recently I never really worried about artificial intelligence, because we haven't yet figured out how to make computers really think.
You know, for just as long as we've been trying to figure out how to make computers really think, computers have been trying to figure out how to make people really think. Think about it.
Didn't you see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!?
Are you saying we should become Oompa Loompas? Because they don't look very happy to me.
No. GP means that when your father, the sole bread-earner for his family that supports four disabled seniors, loses his job putting the cap on toothpaste tubes to a robot, that you merely need to win the lottery, then a strangely eccentric man (not a pedophile, mind you...) will give you a candy factory. Pure Reaganomics 101.
Interestingly, the July Wired has an article about Eugene Kaspersky pushing for and ITU takeover of the internet and an end to anonymity.
It's not paranoid if it's reality.
It's not a theory if it's documented.
And there's on conspiracy, it's just the usual TPTB grasping to regain some of the control that has slipped away from them of late.
Bradley Manning should be in an Allstate commercial.
Some poor bastard who is a liberal, and an atheist takes a job for Chick-A-Fillet because he has a family to feed and mortgage to pay. Then one day his previous pro-evolution and anti-fundamentalist-nutjob statements come out from behind their anonymous protections; one way or another he's gone. so now this poor fuck is out on the streets, still looking.
bah, he can always get another job a atheistBurger(tm)
Who's going to trust a "killer" who was hired to kill you that is willing to be bought off? Doesn't sound like a very reliable sort to me. So you pay him off, he keeeellls you anyway, and you're out $5000. Or something.
Something tells me that 32.2cm won't affect all of Florida.
It's call tidal surge. And increased atmospheric energy leading to more frequent and more powerful hurricanes. Florida's not going to be a very hospitable place to live or grow crops if large parts of it are under saltwater frequently.
Anyhow, screw future generations, I've got mine. They can just adapt to the new normal, they'll never miss what they never had in the first place.
WRONG.
LOC is a viable unit in all dimensions. It just takes a bit of imagination to come up with the proper derivation in some cases.
data - the amount of data corresponding to all the volumes of the LOC mass - how much do all the books in the LOC weigh? length - how long is the LOC? area - how much carpet is there in the LOC? volume - how much space does the LOC occupy? power - how much does the LOC owe PEPCO every month? temperature - what's the AC thermostat set at in the LOC main reading room? frequency - how many times has the LOC existed in human history? luminosity - how much light does the LOC give off when burned? time - how long is the waiting list for Fifty Shades of Gray at the LOC?
I think that covers some common units, and all the basic ones. Deriving the rest is trivial, and left as a exercise for some bored nerd on teh intarwebs.
Wouldn't calling dibs (right of first refusal?, DRTFTUA) on Steve's house be another conflict of interest for the doctor? He'd then have reason to get rid of the current owner.
He provides the Turing Machine emulator, you provide the infinitely long tape. Why exactly is program store considered to be an integral part of the definition? On all practical computers, that's an interchangeable external part.

If you don't care about environmentalism then why go to a "lame environmentalist convention"?

Sounds like an immortal got his head chopped off that day.

I actually count 320 so no imagination is required . I don't really have a point, just that everything is already run into the ground.
I see what you did there....

That's funny, mine's 228.

The problem is Boy Scouts has become stigmatized, lampooned, and in recent years depicted as homophobic.
The problem is Mormons.
