And WHY are you telling us this?? Are you F*UCKING stupid?

People, you see what happens when someone does nothing but smoke pot instead of going to school and studying? Sheesh, it's these kind of people that make me ashamed to be an American associated with them.

  2. Re:Deadlines on Do You Write Backdoors? · · Score: 1

Actually I did have a backdoor to my house. If I ever got locked out I just used a side window that didn't lock to get in. It had my cat's window bed on the window cell, so it was always a bitch to get through, but it helped. I did have the key, but only to the bold, and not the door handle key.

BUT, that was to my OLD house, I've since moved and everything in locked down, excep the cat door, which NO ONE can fit through.

Ummm, am I the only one that thinks this discussion should be moved to USENET? I don't think this type of topic should be in Ask Slashdot. This is more of a news reporting site with discussions about the news topic. I also understand what Ask Slashdot is used for, and it's great, but not for something this small and insignificant. It's great with a discussion about IT jobs or RAID when it is a major discussion that can solicit thousands of replys and strikes a nerve.

What's next, a discussion about why monitors attract cats? Or the ratio of game playing versus wife berating?

Don't flame me because I'm beautiful.

Hey, 12 year old, listen good:

    1) Get away from Transformers, Optimus Prime never got laid, except that one time, but it was a fluke.

    2) Get rid of that Poindexter haircut and don't be afraid to tell girls you like them.

    3) You did GREAT by staying away from drugs, alcohol, and other bad things, mkay.

    4) Oh, this is really important, Missy and her sister will play 'Spin The Bottle'. When your friend leaves with you three together, don't freak out and leave, stay and have fun. You won't get this chance again for 5 more years.

    5) FINISH COLLEGE!!!! I cannot stress this enough. You will want to move out of your mother's home to be independent, DON'T! When you get that computer, study the HELL out of it and stay in school. When you get your degree you'll be better set in the workplace. Don't worry, you still do good, but you can't break past the glass ceiling.

    6) After you break up with the Japanese girl, don't hook up with the next girl, just have fun, don't commit.

    7) Oh, if you happen not to heed #6 make sure you don't cosign for the truck, if you do, please get it in writting in the divorce decree that it's her responsibility.

    8) Almost forgot this, do not let your sister Angie use your Foley's credit card. This will haunt you for years and force you to have a bad credit history and hurt your chances for a good interest rate on the first home you buy.

    9) While in college don't be afraid to double major in Computer Science along with your Physics degree.

    10) Don't settle on any women. You do great. You don't screw up royally by having any kids with a fling or worse.

    11) Be prepared. Life never ends up with what you planned for. It's not bad, just way different.

  16. My U-Shaped desk is the best on The Ultimate Computer Desk? · · Score: 1

I've had the same problem, then one day at Office Depot/Max (doesn't really matter) I found the desk that was perfect for me. Remember the episode of The Jetsons where George is playing the drums at the concert? Since then I wanted a desk that surrounded me and I've come close to my greatest desk yet. I love desk usage area space, so I can use it as a work table and layout all of my documents and stuff I do, non-computer related. My desk comes with a shelving area on one side and some slots for CDs and stuff on one end and a small cabinet on the other end. I put my dual monitors in the middle of the U with my PC case to my left and other gizmos to my upper left corner next to a monitor. Now I have all the area to the right of me and to the left and rear left of me for work space. I use the area to the left and rear left for paper work area (mail, bills, documents, stuff that's important at the moment) and my right area, I try to keep clear at all times. I have an artist lamp on both either ends of my desk, which is great when I'm working my fixing or messing with my computer or working with some gizmos. I LOVE DESK SPACE! I also have my desk with the open U facing the wall, so the wall is behind me. Behind me I have a whiteboard and my speakers so I have complete surround sound. Also, I have privacy with the monitors and door in front of me. My bookcase is to the right of my desk and I set my TV to the front left of me. I like it.

  17. Einstein did not do much for the Atomic Bomb on War Hero Thwarted Nazi Heavy Water Production · · Score: 1

Einstein is always credited for creating or contributing to the development of the atomic bomb, but in fact had very little to do with it. The only thing significant Einstein did was write a letter to Roosevelt trying to persuade him to start a program to develop the nuclear bomb before Hitler did. It was Oppenheimer had his group of 5,000 strong scientists that developed, tested, and used the first atomic weapons. But, about Hitler and his anti-semitism, if he wasn't such a d*ck all the smart people wouldn't have left and only to be stuck with d*ckhead scientists that coudn't get the work done.

BTW, it was the Germans that were far ahead of the US in rocketry. If they had developed the bomb first then they would have a means to deploy it easily. We would all now be saluting the swastika, but that wouldn't matter because my mother would have been killed and I would never have been born.

P.S. It makes you wonder if there's a plan.

It opened up with Janeway on earth and her turning on the monitor about the anniversary of the completion of Voyagers return home and then abrupty ended about her court martial. I was screaming, "COURT MARTIAL? WTF? Noooooooo, I want to hear more!" It was cool to see some great futuristic anti-borg technology and the hive qeen again. But, didnt' she die in a ST movie? This is Challenger all over again. NASA was grounded for years afterwards and people were scared to go back into space. This is all very very very sad. I am so heart broken, but we all know the risks of going into space. They put thier lives on the line all the time for US ! Later generations will reap the benifits of what these EXPLORERS have gone through. We, NASA and humanity, must not bow to fear and continue to tear through our veil of safety and strive to move humanity to a better future. Mars is just a stepping stone that must be sought after. I don't want NASA slow down, but to steam ahead and foster a brighter tomorrow. You all must also know there was not only an Isreali on board, but also an Indian from the city of Karnal. Here brother, in New Delhi, is very shocked. This was a team of many backgrounds and nations, as what should be in memory of Star Trek and the meaning behind it: Many people from many backgrounds working together for a better tomorrow. NASA must continue with its missions and continue with its nuclear propulsion drives and pust the envelope of our understanding or their lives would have been for nothing.

    Amen.
